Chapter 197 A Trace From Birth
This time, Julian did not need to be speechless.
Everyone else, including R, had already become speechless for him.
Five minutes later, Orion made the calmest decision in the room.
“Invite Dr. Thorne to stay at Moonfall under my name. Tell Dr. Quill to return immediately.”
Rowan answered at once. “Yes.”
Dr. Thorne was the Empire’s most renowned biological authority. Calling him the Empire’s leading insectoid researcher would not be an exaggeration.
He was also the old scientist who had once told Julian that he had “a friend” who desperately needed the living Beak Insectoid, then happily taken it away.
So when Dr. Thorne heard why he was being called over, he set down the Beak insectoid and came with hesitation.
By evening, Dr. Thorne, R, and Dr. Quill had gathered at Moonfall.
The three of them would examine Julian from three angles: biological research, parasite screening, and medical diagnosis.
Early the next morning, Dr. Quill placed a joint report in front of Orion and the still-stubborn Julian.
The result surprised everyone.
Maybe it was because Dr. Quill had examined him too many times before, and bad news always seemed t come from him, but Julian never felt cheerful when he saw the man.
Unfortunately, Dr. Thorne was eager to return to his Beak Insectoid research.
R had countless matters waiting.
Compared with those two, Dr. Quill, the medical doctor, looked almost free.
So the responsibility naturally fell to him.
“I’ll keep this brief. Little Julian, you are not parasitized now. But an insectoid once attempted to parasitize you. More specifically, you likely experienced the same process we saw in that believer’s memory: an ‘insectoid entering through the navel. The difference is that yours failed. It was killed by you instead.”
Julian frowned.
He was certain nothing like that had happened after he took over this body.
As for the original owner…
He searched the original owner’s memories again, carefully this time, then shook his head.

happening while asleep, though.”
His answer was precise.
Dr. Quill first glanced at Orion.
After receiving Orion’s silent confirmation, he took a breath and continued.
“You wouldn’t have memories of it. Based on our judgment, it happened eighteen years ago. In other w shortly after you were born.”
Julian stared.
Fine.
So they were exploiting a loophole.
Since Julian’s expression did not change much. Dr. Quill pushed up his glasses and went on.
“After further analysis, I believe that failed parasitism was the reason you changed from an exceptionall gifted Omega into an ordinary, physically weak Beta.”
Dr. Thorne and R had limited time. Once they confirmed Julian was not currently infected, they left the detailed medical work to Dr. Quill.
As Julian’s attending physician, Dr. Quill quickly found the correct direction.
Julian’s psychic power naturally restrained insectoids.
That had already been shown when he removed scale powder and insectoid eggs.
That was why the insectoid failed to take root.
But even a failed parasitism left something behind.
The residue triggered a long-term genetic disease caused by insectoid genes.
“When you first differentiated, I performed a detailed physical examination. Looking back now, your genetic illness must have flared shortly before that. The attack was extremely aggressive. It nearly killed you.”
Dr. Quill shrugged.
“At the time, I thought a genetic serum had caused it. I didn’t expect an insectoid to be the source.”
Julian fell silent.
So that was why.
He had wondered why the original owner had been so fragile.
The original owner had only cut his wrist to scare people. There had not even been much blood.
How had he died from that?
So the real cause was the genetic disease
“By accident, that violent genetic storm failed to kill you. Instead, it awakened the dormant Omega gene your body. Then came the Omega pheromone shot thrown at you by the person who harmed you…..
Dr. Quill explained everything in enough detail.
Julian had no issue with the conclusion.
But he still resented the gate and the scanner.
“If I’m not infected, why did they keep stopping me?”
