Chapter 20 A Walking Money Pit
Almost at the same time, several uniformed Alphas standing nearby lifted their heads and looked toward Orion and Julian in surprise.
“Very pure healing psychic power.” Orion looked down at the lotus in his palm. “I believe you’ve already helped me.”
“Huh?”
Julian was confused.
But in the next second, he felt his psychic power being drained away in an instant. The azure lotus in Orion’s hand vanished along with it.
A violent wave of dizziness and nausea slammed into him.
If Orion had not caught his waist with one hand and let him lean against him, Julian suspected he might have dropped to his knees right there.
“His psychic power has only just awakened, so his reserves were low to begin with. He also used it too quickly just now. He’ll need crystals and insectoid cores to replenish it,”
After a brief examination, Quentin immediately confirmed Julian’s condition.
Julian: “?”
What cores?
What crystals?
Quentin seemed to read the confusion on his face and said with exasperated concern, “Omega psychic power is special. It can heal and replenish an Alpha’s psychic power, but no one can replenish or soothe an Omega’s psychic power in the same way. Fortunately, the Empire later discovered insectoid cores and several special high-grade minerals. That finally solved the problem.”
Before Quentin even finished, a tall Alpha had already walked over quickly.
Julian watched him open a black velvet pouch, revealing a spread of brilliant, dazzling crystals inside. Orion, still supporting Julian, casually picked out a few and showed them to him one by one.
“These are common high-grade resources in the Empire: Emberfire Crystals, Pulse Stones, Sands of Time… Conditions on Zerath are limited, so choose whichever you like for now.”
Orion’s tone was calm, as if he were offering Julian a handful of unwanted rocks from the roadside instead of priceless crystals.
Julian: “…”
Excellent.
After becoming a medical case, he had now also become a walking money pit.

Because the moment Orion took out those crystals, Julian had searched through the original owners memories with his spiritual sense and discovered that the original owner could probably work hard tor an entire month and still not afford even one random crystal in front of him.
As for insectoid cores, Julian already knew exactly how difficult those were to obtain.
So he looked at the crystals in Orion’s hand, then tilted his head up at the Alpha supporting him.
“Are these my treatment fees?”
Orion raised an eyebrow.
“If not, I’ll think of another way.”
Julian’s voice was dry.
He had been a poor independent cultivator in his previous life. He had not expected to be even more broke in this one.
Then he felt the Alpha’s chest tremble behind him.
Orion lowered his eyes, deep as an aurora, and looked at him with a faint smile.
“No need. My treatment fees are very high. Keeping one little Omega fed and supplied so he doesn’t have to think of another way’ is well within my means.”
Julian: “…Oh.”
At the angel investor’s instruction, Julian was soon sent back to his room to study on his own, along with a pouch of high-grade crystals and an Omega safety handbook Quentin had prepared specially for him.
Only then did Quentin finally have time to share his findings with Orion.
“Boss, I suspect Julian’s delayed presentation wasn’t accidental. I found a trace amount of an unknown drug in his system. I believe it may be connected to a banned gene virus.”
“A gene virus?”
Orion’s expression darkened slightly.
If he remembered correctly, in his previous life, Julian had died of a genetic disease. And it had happened the day before this Zerath assessment.
The reason Orion knew that was also because of Quentin.
Quentin had once been an expert in genetic engineering, so he had always paid unusual attention to genetic
diseases.
“But the starship’s equipment is limited,” Quentin said. “Whether it’s the gene virus I suspect will have to wait until we return to the capital world and run a full analysis.”
The refined Beta had always been cautious and precise.
But when he thought of Julian’s dazed, clueless look, he could not help worrying a little more.
