Outcast Omega Pampered by the Alpha General novel Chapter 433

Chapter 433 The Grim Reaper Takes Attendance

The scene looked so relaxed that the soldiers behind Harold quietly exhaled.

After the Battle of Daybreak, the First Legion had learned exactly how terrifying the Second and Third Legions could be. Now they stood aboard the Ninefold, in the heart of those legions’ territory. A little tension was unavoidable.

Just as they began to loosen up, the boy beside Orion suddenly turned his head.

Catlike eyes rested on them, deep and luminous as autumn water scattered with starlight. A thousand unspoken thoughts seemed gathered between his brows.

Anyone who met that gaze lost track of themselves.

Truly.

The tiny figures inside the soldiers’ minds were already starting to drool over him when Julian’s eyes abruptly shifted.

His gaze pierced straight toward Colonel Austin at the front of the formation.

“That thing living inside your right eye…”

Julian paused, then asked with complete seriousness, “Is it an insectoid?”

Everyone: “!”

The room erupted for a single heartbeat.

Then the previously noisy conference hall fell silent.

Everyone near Austin stepped back together. Harold moved in front of Helen at once and summoned his thunder lion. Louis reacted just as quickly, calling out Jormungandr.

“Your Highness, Major General Louis, I passed every physical examination. How could there possibly be an insectoid in my eye?”

Austin gave a helpless smile. He showed no panic at all, as though no secret had been exposed. Instead, he looked directly at Julian.

“Your Grace must be joking…”

He never finished.

A wolf cub sprang from a wormhole and dropped onto his body.

Ruin remained small, but crushing force had already gathered beneath its paws. The weight drove Austin from standing to his knees, then flattened him completely against the floor.

“Trying to self-destruct?”

Orion’s voice came without warning.

Absolute suppression radiated from the cub and seized Austin’s Alpha instincts. His entire body shook.

Self-destruction was impossible.

He could not even release his spirit form from his psychic sea.

Everyone in the military knew Orion had been born at 3S-class.

Orion almost never attacked humans, however. He killed insectoids. Aside from the students who had attended the Imperial Military Academy with him, almost no one had witnessed Ruin’s true terror.

Austin smiled bitterly.

So this was what it meant.

When Orion chose to suppress someone, resistance meant nothing.

Inspectors removed Austin’s wrist terminal. At the same time, members of the Second Legion brought a psychic suppressor collar and restraints, fastening each piece onto the First Legion colonel.

Even then, Austin could not understand why one sentence from Julian had made Orion act without the slightest hesitation.

He had not even been given enough time to send a warning and tell the others to beware of Julian.

He would never receive an answer.

The instant Dr. Thorne learned that Austin had been captured, he messaged Colonel Zoya Vance, who was temporarily replacing Rowan as Orion’s direct adjutant.

His team would roll out the red carpet.

For whom?

Austin, naturally.

And Austin was not alone.

Once his secret was exposed, more officers, researchers, and soldiers were arrested in silence and transported directly to Aster Peak aboard the Ninefold.

Aster Peak was the starship’s scientific research center. It soon constructed a specialized prison solely to hold the new detainees.

Only after the traitors met inside that facility did they understand the truth.

Omega Sovereign Julian Shaw was not merely an Omega Sovereign.

He was a human scanner.

One glance stripped every disguise away.

Whatever Julian said, Orion believed. Some of the prisoners had appeared fiercely loyal. Some had rendered extraordinary service to the Empire.

Legion, position, years of service, secondary designation, family background, achievements…

None of it mattered.

The Grim Reaper called roll.

Whoever he named disappeared.

Julian adapted remarkably well to his new role as the military’s pint-sized Grim Reaper. His favorite daily activity became taking Ruin on patrol through his territory.

He no longer limited those patrols to the Ninefold or the Second and Third Legions.

He inspected the First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth too.

Who would ever complain about owning more property?

Certainly not Julian.

The other legions welcomed him enthusiastically. They copied Orion by preparing snacks, and they set aside lounges where Julian could rest when patrol tired him out.

Their attitudes were excellent. Their performance was acceptable.

Julian occasionally rewarded them with help.

“Advancement? That’s easy. Add this to the serum first, then this, this, and this…”

Within days, new S-rank Alphas began appearing throughout the legions.

“Watch carefully. I’m drawing it only once. If you can’t remember, you simply lack the aptitude. Understood?”

Sometimes Julian patrolled the mecha engineering division and answered the masters’ questions.

They genuinely could not remember everything after seeing it once.
