Chapter 432 The Military Cleans House
“So did I. No problems at all. I’ve always said I’m the most loyal soldier in the entire military.”
“You? Please. This lady is still ahead of you.”
The inspectors who had cleared both reviews whispered among themselves inside the First Legion’s Internal Affairs Division.
“Quiet!”
The command cracked through the room.
Prince Harold entered in a black-and-gold uniform. Helen walked beside him in white and gold, having formally transferred into the First Legion several days earlier.
Helen had previously held a nominal position in the Fourth Legion. It was the Rockefeller family’s force and a symbol of their honor.
Then Helen fought beside his uncle Marston twice.
He also realized that Jelena Voss, Ari Snow, Serena Rhodes, Lily Snow, and the other chief healers genuinely looked down on him.
Only then did one truth sink in.
Without the nation, there could be no family.
Top-tier Omegas were not respected merely because of their ranks.
They were respected because they stood where they were needed most.
Helen was a proud narcissus.
He was no worse than anyone else.
Julian, that human-machine monster, did not count.
Helen wanted to prove himself.
To everyone.
Ignoring his father’s opposition, he transferred directly into the First Legion. He replaced Nicole, who had voluntarily surrendered her advancement opportunity, and became the legion’s chief healer.

Chapter 432 The Military Cleans House
*** Finished
“Good morning, Prince Harold, Lord Helen, Major General Louis Nolan, and Colonel Austin!”
The inspectors saluted in unison.
Their respect also extended to Louis Nolan. His psychic power had temporarily fallen to S- rank, yet he remained on active duty at the front.
His grandfather, the old Duke Nolan, had stayed at the border as well so Ari could continue treating him.
Age made the duke’s condition very different from his grandson’s. His rank would remain at S permanently, and his psychic sea had begun aching at irregular intervals. He would need at least six months to recover.
Colonel Austin, the officer who had silenced the inspectors, was the head of Internal Affairs and a longtime veteran of the First Legion.
“You are the finest inspectors in the First Legion. When we board the Ninefold, do not embarrass us. Understood?”
Harold’s voice was cold.
The First Legion still had a large number of old-guard officers on the capital world. Corvo Holt and Harold’s maternal grandfather, Visser Watson, had both held general rank within it.
Several honorary generals remained as well.
Embarrassing as it was to admit, Harold owed his appointment as legion commander partly to Orion.
Atlas had given the final approval, but the old marshal would never have agreed if Orion had not spoken for Harold.
How did Harold know?
His mother had told him.
According to Beatrice, Atlas had distrusted the entire Mulholland family ever since Alexis deceived Celeste Ashford.
When Orion was little, Atlas had supposedly wanted to throw him out of the Ashford family
too.
“He said there was something wrong with Mulholland blood. Old or young, none of you are good people.”
Beatrice had sounded remarkably supportive of the opinion during that call.
