Chapter 469 The Higher Species
Even if human conseiousness vanished, the resulong life-form would still be more advanced.
At least, that was Yuzuki’s belief.
Then Julian spoke.
“A species that has to devour another species to evolve — what exactly makes you so confident it’s powerful? Its size? Its low intelligence? Or the fact that it never bathes?”
Yuzuki: “?

She opened her mouth, ready to scream that Julian was shortsighted and deliberately slandering the insectoids because he favored humanity.
Julian continued first.
“Orion was born at 3S-class. If he has a child with a mother from an equally exceptional bloodline, that child could be born at 45-class. And if Orion keeps advancing, 5S, 6S, even IOS might eventually become possible…”
Something appeared to occur to him.
“Forget Orion and his ridiculous potential. Look only at Caleb Hayes, Adrian Whitmore, and Laurie Rick. How many years have they cultivated? How many years does an insectoid need to reach 25 or 3S?”
Yuzuki froze.
Julian’s next words were the true killing blow.
“So why do you think a species that needs hundreds or thousands of years to become only slightly stronger than humanity — and has to feed on human blood to evolve quickly or develop intelligence at all — is somehow the superior species?”
Yuzuki: “1”
Julian was not trying to tear her down. He never deliberately discouraged anyone. He was discussing the matter as it stood and offering an opinion based on a thousand years of experience.
To Yuzuki, however, human-insectoid symbiosis was an obsession. She wanted to transform the life-forms of both species and make them “evolve.”
Julian’s words were provocation.
A declaration of war.
“Nonsense! You don’t understand experimentation! You don’t understand insectoids! They are perfect life- forms. Humans are only their food, a stepping-stone for insectoid evolution!”
Yuzuki roared.

Madness never existed without an object of devotion. Every fanatic possessed something that would ignite with one touch and explode with the next.
This was Yuzuki’s obsession.
“You understand nothing!”
She stared at Julian like a wild beast, threw Suzuki’s body aside, and rose despite Adrian’s gun. Then she opened the one-way glass.
“Look at them! These are Alphas from your Second Legion. They are resisting the eggs’ invasion of their psychic seas with everything they have, and the eggs are still assimilating them!”
“F*ck!”
A shadow-division Alpha’s eyes turned blood-red.
The 17 soldiers remained trapped on floating beds, inhibitor cuffs on their wrists and collars around their necks. The sight made him want to rush forward and tear Yuzuki apart.
“What did you do to them?”
Rowan’s throat moved. His eyes looked calm, but endless fury strained beneath that surface, ready to devour someone whole.
“What do you think?”
Yuzuki smiled.
“Such excellent experimental material. How could a scientist as devoted as I am refuse to use them? Don’t worry. They’ll advance soon. If they hadn’t deliberately resisted, they would have advanced already!”
She ignored the hatred in every Alpha’s eyes and turned back toward Julian in open challenge.
“Well? What do you have to say now? Have you finally realized that I was right?”
Julian: “?”
His catlike eyes narrowed. He remained baffled and completely unimpressed.
“No.”
Yuzuki: “!”
She refused to stop.
“The eggs can dominate humans. They can erode and control the human psychic sea. Doesn’t that prove the insectoids are more advanced? If humans are the superior species, why can’t humans control insectoid consciousness in return?”
Julian answered. “She confessed.”
Yuzuki: “?”

Confessed to what?
Before she could ask, Dr R nodded seriously.
“Don’t worry. I recorded every word. I’ll send it to all the traitors later and let them see exactly what kind of poisoned fruit they’ve swallowed.”
Yuzuki: “…”
“This is an insult to science! I was explaining my creation, my supreme creation, and all of you were scheming against me!”
