Chapter 20
When Kane saw the familiar figure on the news, he mobilized all his connections to investigate who it was.
Since the Ambrose family was rooted overseas while Kane remained in the country, it took him half a month to find Phoenix. The moment he saw the information about Phoenix, he instantly knew she was his little wolf.
Even though she had changed her name, he was certain she was the one he had been searching for. Once confirmed, he wasted no time booking the earliest flight to the UK.
On the way, Kane envisioned countless scenarios of their reunion. He believed the most likely possibility was that she would still be angry and unwilling to speak to him. But that didn’t matter. As long as he could see her, it was enough.
After Aria’s ‘death,” Kane realized even more profoundly that his life was incomplete without Aria. He vowed to sincerely apologize to her. No more being tempted by other omegas. Once she forgave him, he would hold an even grander mate ceremony to proclaim his love to the world.
But what he didn’t expect was that, upon seeing her for the first time in a month, he would find another alpha by her side.
The two were engrossed in conversation for nearly an hour, oblivious to their surroundings. Kane stood behind the wall, stealing a glimpse of the smiling Aria.
Yet, as he watched her familiar silhouette, the longing that had been buried erupted like a tidal wave, threatening to overwhelm him.
About to break under the weight of his emotions, he finally called out the name that had been etched in his heart.
After nearly a month, Kane once again saw the Aria he thought had “died.” His eyes reddened, and his voice caught in his throat.
“Little wolf, I’ve finally found you. You’re not dead… you’re alive, standing right here in front of me.”
