Chapter 166: Chapter 166 Saving Bianca

SOPHIA’S POV

We saw him before we even parked.

Marcel was standing on the pavement directly below Bianca’s building.

His phone was pressed to his ear. Even from inside the moving car I could hear him. With my wolf hearing, I could tell he was talking to a voicemail that wasn’t picking up, saying the same things over and over. He was most likely calling Bianca over and over again.

Zade pulled up to the curb and stopped the engine.

I was already reaching for the door handle.

The anger that moved through me as I stepped out was intense. A woman I loved was locked inside her apartment, frightened, while a man who had hurt her stood below her window in the dark holding flowers like that meant something. He did it like flowers undid cheating, like flowers undid mockery and lies and the things he had said about her to his friends while she was in the next room.

My wolf was furious. I could feel her against the inside of my chest. She had her hackles raised. The instinct to protect my friend was so serious it was almost hard to contain.

I didn’t bother containing it. I just walked.

Marcel heard my footsteps and lowered his phone. He blinked when he saw me. He looked surprised for a bit then his expression turned dismissive, like he couldn’t wait to get rid of me.

"Sophia." He said in a bored tone. "This doesn’t involve you."

"Leave," I said "Leave right now. Stop calling her. Stop coming here. Stop sending threats, flowers and whatever else you think is going to change her mind." I looked at him straight in the eyes without blinking. "She is done with you, Marcel. Done. You standing here in the middle of the night is not love - it’s harassment, and I will make sure it’s treated as such if you don’t walk away right now."

Marcel’s expression shifted. The dismissive expression he had turned into something uglier. His jaw set. His eyes moved past me then he started to look uneasy.

Zade had come to stand at my left side.

He hadn’t said anything yet. He didn’t need to. He simply stood there, letting his dominant Alpha aura speak for himself. His hands were relaxed at his sides. His face was completely expressionless. That was somehow more threatening than anything else he could have done.

Marcel’s eyes moved between us. He started to look a little scared.

Good.

"I just want to talk to her," he said "That’s all. Five minutes. If she tells me to leave after that, I’ll go."

"She’s already told you," I said. "Multiple times. Tonight and before tonight."

"That’s between me and Bianca-"

"No." My voice came out flat and final. "It stopped being just between you and Bianca when you sent her suicide threats. It stopped being just between you when you got into my car and put your hands around my throat." I took one step closer. "You don’t get to decide what’s your business anymore, Marcel. You gave that up."

Above us, a window opened.

We all looked up at the same moment. Bianca’s face appeared. Her face looked pale and filled with fear. Her eyes moved quickly between Marcel on the pavement and me standing in front of him.

For a second she just looked. Then she disappeared from the window.

Thirty seconds later the building’s front door opened and she came through it.

She moved quickly, crossing the pavement to my side. When she reached me she took my hand in both of hers and held it.

She was shaking. The fact that she was made me even more annoyed. She didn’t deserve this at all.

She looked at Marcel. He looked back at her too. I noticed that his grip on the flowers tightened.

"Bianca," he started. "Just let me-"
