"Don't worry, Your Highness," Lucius said quietly, his voice steady but firm. "I don't think His Majesty will ever lose a fight — even without Azure. Even if that Charles fellow has a dragon."

Florian barely glanced back. They walked quickly through the corridor, the stone walls echoing with the distant roars of dragons above.

Behind them, the air still vibrated from the clash that shook the kingdom.

Lucius continued, almost as if to fill the silence.

"His Majesty is the strongest Arcanior. Perhaps the strongest man in existence. There is absolutely no one who could beat him."

"That's true, but…" Florian's steps faltered, his gaze dropping to the polished marble beneath his boots. "Charles wouldn't be that confident if he didn't have anything."

Lucius gave a small laugh — forced, but polite. "I don't think so, Your Highness. If anything, he's just a fool who thinks a dragon can save him from His Majesty's wrath." He chuckled again, lighter this time, trying to wash away the tension as they neared the heavy doors of the safe room.

But Florian didn't laugh.

He couldn't.

The knot in his chest tightened the closer they got. 'No… something's wrong.'

He'd met Charles before. The man was arrogant, yes, but not suicidal.

And as much as it had been easy for Florian to deceive him once, that was only because Charles had underestimated him — a mere prince, weak and unthreatening.

But Heinz?

Heinz was not someone anyone could look down upon.

Heinz was ruthless. A conqueror. A man whose presence could silence a battlefield.

'Then why does Charles believe he can win?'

Florian's throat went dry. The thought spiraled like smoke he couldn't catch. 'He must have leverage… something His Majesty can't ignore. Something that stops him from striking back—'

Before he could finish the thought, a cold hand clamped down on his shoulder, halting him mid-step.

Florian's breath hitched. His heart lurched painfully in his chest.

'What the hell?!'

Azure roared—a sound that split the clouds—as he surged forward like a blue comet.

The air screamed around them, wind cutting through Heinz's coat as the dragon's wings propelled them higher, faster, straight toward Charles and his crimson beast.

Charles didn't flinch. He leaned slightly forward, one hand brushing against the scales of his dragon. "Now," he murmured.

The red dragon twisted sharply, evading Azure's charge with a sudden burst of molten air. Its tail, edged with hardened magma and heat, whipped upward and slashed across Azure's wing.

The impact echoed like thunder. Azure let out a guttural cry, the wound smoking as molten blood sizzled into the wind.

"Azure!" Heinz's voice boomed, fury flaring in his chest. The air around him distorted, heat rippling from his aura.

His crimson eyes burned brighter, his hand clenching at his side as if to crush the air itself.

'You dare hurt him?'

The blue dragon steadied midair, growling in defiance. Heinz raised his hand—his magic circle igniting beneath his feet, flaring in intricate patterns of red and gold.

"Burn it all."

Azure opened his maw, blue fire bursting forth in a spiraling torrent.

Heinz joined him, his palm outstretched as flames gathered in his hand, forming a blazing spear that roared to life.

The two streams of fire—one azure, one crimson—merged midair, creating a wave of incandescent destruction that rushed toward Charles.
