Please Me Daddy (Gracie) novel Chapter 180

He looks like the male version of you.

Grace

Theodore wants you.

I looked at Chase in confusion.

I didn’t understand it. Why would a famous actor want me as his personal PR agent? It didn’t make sense. Even if I had solved the celebrity case, that alone didn’t mean I was some extraordinary genius.

I wasn’t downgrading myself, I was just being honest. There were far more experienced, more qualified PR agents out there. People who had worked in the industry for years, who knew how to handle stars like Theodore effortlessly. So why would someone with his fame and wealthy background come specifically for me?

Slowly, I turned my gaze to Apollo. His eyes were still fixed on Theodore, and I knew he was thinking the same thing. He didn’t understand it either. Someone like Theodore singling me out didn’t add up, and that alone was enough to make Apollo suspicious.

I glanced back at Theodore. He looked completely at ease, leaning lazily against his chair, a faint smile playing on his lips as if this entire situation was nothing more than entertainment. When his eyes met mine, his smile widened, and then, unexpectedly, he winked.

I blinked, startled.

Instinctively, I looked back at Apollo, and as expected, his gaze darkened even further.

Was it just me, or was he doing this on purpose? It felt deliberate, like he was poking at something dangerous just to see what would happen.

You must have a death wish,Apollo said coldly.

Theodore tilted his head, completely unbothered. Maybe,he replied with a shrug. But I see myself as a very lucky person. I annoy my older brother all the time, and he threatens me constantly, yet here I am, still alive.

Apollo’s jaw tightened, anger flashing across his face. Don’t mistake me for your older brother,he said, his voice low. Unlike him, I won’t hesitate to get rid of you.

My throat went dry. Just like everyone else in the room, I swallowed nervously.

I leaned closer to Chase and whispered, Is this okay? Are they even allowed to threaten each other like that?

Chase wiped the sweat from his forehead, his smile strained. We should be thankful it’s the second brother who came,he murmured back. If it were the eldest, this room would be impossible to breathe in. I’m pretty sure half the executives would’ve had a heart attack already with how suffocating the atmosphere would be.

I didn’t need Chase to explain further. I had already met the first brother.

I understood exactly what he meant.

Ryan Jones was crazy. The first time I met him in a hospital, he hadn’t even bothered with small talk. Instead, he had calmly started teaching me how to fight a man, as if that were the most natural conversation in the world.

With how complicated and unpredictable the older brother was, and how domineering and dangerous Apollo could be when he wanted to be, I was certain that staying in the same room with just the two of them would be unbearable.

I glanced between Theodore and Apollo again, the silent tension stretching thicker with every passing second, when Chase suddenly spoke beside me.

But it’s kind of weird though.

I turned to him. What is?

He was staring at me now, his expression thoughtful. You kind of look like each other. You and Theodore,he said slowly. He looks like the male version of you. And I’ve seen Mr. Ryan before tooyou kind of look like him as well.

He hesitated, then laughed awkwardly. I know this sounds stupid, but do you, by any chance, have any kind of relation with the Jones family?

I froze.

Relation?

That was impossible. There was no way I was related to the Jones family. But at the same time, I couldn’t deny it completely. I had noticed the resemblance, and there was also that strange sense of familiarity, that odd comfort I felt whenever I was around them, something I couldn’t explain no matter how hard I tried.

Still, it didn’t make sense. I grew up in an orphanage before being adopted. I wasn’t some lost rich heiress from a powerful family. That only happened in books and dramas, not in real life. I didn’t want my thoughts to spiral into something so unrealistic.

I shook my head and looked at Chase. That’s impossible, Chase.

He laughed immediately. Right? That’s stupid. I really need to stop watching movies.

I nodded along, forcing myself to push the thought out of my head.

Turning back to Apollo, I let out a quiet sigh. I had no idea whether the reason he was refusing the deal was because he was being overprotective, or because he was jealous. Either way, there was no reason for him to be jealous of Theodore.

He can’t possibly be jealous of every man who comes into contact with me, I told myself firmly.

Just like I wouldn’t be jealous of every woman who came into contact with him.

As that thought crossed my mind, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Before anyone could respond, the door opened.

I turned around, and froze.

He looks like the male version of you.

Katherine was standing there.

She walked into the conference room with a smile on her face, her dress hugging her body perfectly, accentuating every curve as if it had been tailored just for her. Her hair was styled neatly to one side, and she carried several cups of coffee in her hands. The moment she stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted. People’s attention turned to her, especially the men, none of them bothering to hide their awe as they stared.

She moved with confidence, straight toward Theodore, and smiled brightly.

Brother, you didn’t tell me you were coming, I would’ve brought your favorite coffee much earlier.

She placed a cup down in front of him. Theodore glanced at it, his expression blank for a brief moment, before he smiled. Thank you, Katherine.

Her smile widened. I brought coffee for everyone, she added, setting the remaining cups on the table.

The men immediately chuckled, clearly pleased.

Haha, thank you.

So you must be Katherine, the new intern.

I’ve heard a lot about you. You’re the Jones heiress, right, Theodore’s younger sister?

Katherine simply smiled, not confirming or denying anything.

Across the room, a few women rolled their eyes.

Look at her, so despicable, one muttered under her breath.

“Why does she act like that? Does she think every man wants her?another whispered.

Katherine didn’t spare them a glance. Instead, she picked up another cup of coffee and walked straight toward Apollo.

My heart started pounding before I could stop it.

She placed the cup down in front of him, meeting his eyes. This is for you, Mr. Apollo. I hope you like it.

I watched the scene unfold, my gaze locked onto the two of them, my chest tightening for reasons I didn’t

want to name.

Grace. Grace.

Chase’s voice snapped me out of it. I blinked and turned to him, confused.

What happened to you?

Wwhat do you mean?

He pointed subtly at my side. You’re clutching the seat so tightly.

I looked down.

My hand was gripping the edge of the chair so tightly my knuckles had turned white. I immediately let go,

my fingers trembling slightly as I pulled them back.

I stared back at Katherine and Apollo.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Was Ijealous?
