My vision blurred, tears burning my eyes.
How could she be dead? How could someone so small, so innocent, just disappear like that? All she wanted was to be happy. That was all she ever wanted.
Apollo pulled back slightly, his hands cupping my face, forcing me to look at him, but I couldn’t. I tried to step past him, toward Hannah’s room, but before I could take another step, the world spun violently, and the ground beneath me tilted, as if it were giving way.
My vision darkened, my ears ringing as everything began to fade.
The last thing I felt was Apollo catching me before I hit the floor, his arms locking tightly around me, and the sound of a woman’s voice rushing toward us, calling for help, before everything went black.

My gaze darkened.
