Chapter 274
Victoria looked at Calvin, her eyes steady and honest, not bothering to hide anything. “Grandpa, isn’t this a rhetorical question? Do you really think I wouldn’t be mad at them?”
Meeting Victoria’s gaze, Calvin let out a deep sigh, his expression full of helplessness and guilt. He spoke slowly, “I know the Binder family’s business is basically all yours now. I can’t really ask anything of you anymore. You’re only letting it slide because I’m your grandfather.”
Victoria didn’t mince words. “Grandpa, as long as you get it. The only reason I turned a blind eye to you letting Darell’s family pick me up at the airport today is because when I first came back to the Binder family, you acknowledged me as your granddaughter. You didn’t treat me differently or look down on me just because I was brought back from the village. So I won’t treat you like I treat Darell’s family.”
Calvin was silent for a moment, thinking about what Victoria said. Then he looked up at Victoria and asked directly, “Victoria, tell me the truth. Are you really never going to forgive Darell and his family, ever?”
Victoria didn’t hesitate. “Grandpa, you know me well enough—even if we haven’t spent much time together. There’s no way I’ll ever forgive them for what they’ve done.”
Calvin sighed. “Alright, I know it’s asking too much for you to forgive Darell and his family. But selfishly, I hope you can spare Simon’s life and cure him of the poison.”
“Victoria, don’t bother denying it. I know you’re the one who poisoned Simon,” Calvin said.
Victoria smiled. “I’m not going to deny it this time. But I want you to know, the reason I poisoned him is because the very first time he met me, he tried to get back at me for Angelica and even tried to ruin my face.”
Calvin was silent for a moment, then said helplessly, “Simon really brought it on himself.”
But then, Calvin’s eyes took on a kind of sorrow only the elderly possess. “No matter what, Simon is still my eldest grandson. I don’t want to be the one who has to bury him. Victoria, I’m pleading with you–can you spare Simon, just this once?”
“So that’s what you were really after, Grandpa,” Victoria smiled knowingly.
Calvin nodded. “Victoria, can you do me this favor, just for me?”
Victoria smiled. “Grandpa, like you said, the Binder family’s business is basically in my hands now. I don’t have to do you this favor anymore.”
Calvin looked torn.
“But since you’ve asked, I won’t really refuse you. Just so you know–I’m only agreeing this once. If they ever try anything against me again, I won’t let them off.”
It’s not like she was actually curing Simon. She was just keeping the poison from acting up for now, just like she did for Faye.
If they ever tried anything against her again, she’d make the poison act up again.
Seeing his granddaughter agree, Calvin let out a long sigh of relief and said solemnly, “If they ever act foolish again, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves. Whatever happens, they’ll get what’s coming to them.”
By the time they arrived at the Binder estate, it was already 6:30 P.M.
With October coming to an end, the days in Benwig City were getting shorter, and the sky was already dark.

Victoria got out of the car first, then turned back to help Calvin out.

As soon as Calvin steadied himself, Darell, who had just parked and gotten out of his car, hurried over with a concerned look. “Dad, let me help you.”
But Calvin wasn’t having it. He shoved Darell’s hand aside. “Victoria’s got me covered. I don’t need your help.”
Darell pulled his hand back, looking awkward and resentful.
Seeing Calvin’s attitude, Darell couldn’t help but think, ‘Is he really still pissed after all this time? Is he seriously not letting us move back in?‘
Come on, I’m his own flesh and blood!
And Curtis and Simon are his grandkids, too!
Don’t bother trying to please Dad. He listens to Victoria now. If she doesn’t forgive you, you can forget about moving back nto the Binder family,” Hector said, then took Daisy’s hand and followed after Victoria and Calvin.
ulia glared at their backs, grumbling, “What’s Hector so proud of, anyway? If he hadn’t snatched our daughter, would he even be where he is now? Let’s be real–everything he has is thanks to our own daughter. The nerve of that guy!”
Curtis reminded her again, “Mom, don’t say stuff like that in front of Grandpa or Victoria.”
I know. For Simon and his poison, I’ll swallow my pride,” Julia said, taking a deep breath.
Simon felt tormented inside; it was eating him up that he’d become nothing but dead weight to his family.
Curtis tried to reassure him. “Don’t worry, Simon. Grandpa will definitely speak up for you. He wouldn’t have the heart to let you suffer so much you wish you were dead.”
Simon gave a bitter smile. “Let’s hope so. Come on, we’ll find out soon enough if there’s any chance to get this poison out of
ne.”
With that, he limped after them.
Watching his son limp along, struggling with every step, Darell still couldn’t wrap his head around how everything had allen apart. Their family used to be happy and loaded, but now, in the blink of an eye, it was all just misery and chaos.
Simon had lost a leg, and every single day he was tortured by the poison inside him–he was barely even himself anymore, ust surviving in agony. And Darell had lost a pinky finger, a mark he’d have to carry for the rest of his life.
But Darell wasn’t just after curing Simon’s poison. He wanted everything back–his rightful place, the Binder family fortune, all of it.
And that wasn’t the end of it. He was never going to let Victoria get away with what she’d done.
So what if we’ve wronged her before? She’s my own daughter! There’s no way she should’ve turned on us and ruined our lives like this. She had no right to mess up her own family so badly,‘ Darell fumed inwardly.
Since Darell’s family was around, everyone had dinner at Calvin’s house.
“Here you go, Grandpa. I asked the kitchen to cook this soup for you with some herbs I came up with myself. It’ll help you stay healthy and live a long life,” Victoria said, getting up to personally serve Calvin a bowl.
“That’s my good granddaughter,” Calvin beamed, unable to hide his smile.

Then Victoria served Daisy a bowl as well. “Mom, you should try some too. This herbal soup is great for your health and will keep you looking gorgeous.”
“Sure.” Daisy replied with a cheerful smile.
When Julia heard it could help her look younger, she immediately held out her bowl to Victoria. “Victoria, can you serve me
some too?”
Victoria glanced up at her. “Julia Binder, how do you even have the nerve to ask me to serve you soup? You’re really totally clueless.”
This brat!
‘Not a single nice word from her!‘ Julia Binder thought, her anger simmering.
Julia forced a smile, swallowing her irritation. “It’s fine, I’ll do it myself.”
Victoria scoffed, “The herbs in this soup are my own creation–each one is worth over ten million dollars. Are you even worthy of eating this? Not like I’d serve you anyway.”
Julia could only stare, speechless.
She forced a smile. “Fine, I won’t have any. Let Grandpa enjoy it instead.”
Victoria served Hector a bowl before finally serving herself.
Calvin took a sip and was pleasantly surprised. “Even though it’s made with herbs, it actually tastes really good!”
Seeing Calvin in a good mood, Curtis couldn’t help but bring it up. “Grandpa, about what I mentioned before–about
Simon…”
Calvin shot a glance at Simon, scooped up another spoonful of herbal soup, and said, “Let’s eat first. Whatever it is, we can alk after dinner.”
