Queen Of Revenge And Glory (Victoria and Jackson) novel Chapter 276

Daisy remembered the awkward moments at the welcome party and said, Victoria, from now on, I’ll personally design your evening gown for every birthdayunless you ever get bored of it.

Victoria beamed. No way I’ll get bored! Never! Mom, I want to wear your designs every single birthday from now on!

Watching the happy scene unfold, Simon and Curtis felt a bittersweet ache deep inside.

The two brothers shared a silent sigh, exchanging a look that said it all.

As they remembered everything their family had done to Victoria, and compared it to how their uncle and aunt treated her now, they couldn’t help but feel ashamed and foolish.

Victoria forgiving us?

That’s a wish so far out of reach, it might as well be impossible,They thought.

Back at Goldenwood Villa, Victoria didn’t even look back as she said coldly, You two don’t need to come in. Just wait here.

Simon froze, glancing at Hector and Daisy. Uncle, Aunt, I

He really wanted to go inside and talk to Victoria, Hector, and Daisy, hoping to express his regret and maybe make amends.

Hector saw right through Simon’s intentions and interrupted him. It’s not like you two have been coming around much hese past few years, right? Victoria’s right. Just wait here.

Simon said quietly, feeling embarrassed. Okay.

The night was eerily quiet, with only the occasional chirp of bugs breaking the silence.

About five minutes later, Victoria stepped out of the courtyard, moving slowly.

She gripped a delicate little porcelain bottle in her hand, its surface shimmering faintly under the moonlight.

Victoria came to a halt, and without a second thought, hurled the tiny bottle straight at Simon.

The bottle traced a glowing arc through the night, like a shooting star, zeroing in on Simon.

Simon reached out and caught the bottle steadily. He didn’t open it right away, just gripped it tightly in his hand, as if it were a priceless treasure.

Victoria watched Simon catch the bottle, then turned to leave, not intending to say another word. But after just a couple steps, she heard two voices call out behind her.

VictoriaCurtis started.

Vickie!

One voice was Simon’s, the other was Curtis’s.

Victoria paused, slowly turning her head to look at Simon and Curtis with an expressionless face. She asked coldly, What else do you want?

Curtis spoke up first, his voice tinged with hope. Your birthday’s coming up. Is there anything you want as a present?

for you.

Victoria listened to them, her eyes completely unreadable. After a moment, she said coolly. Why would you think I’d ever invite you to celebrate my birthday?

Her voice was as calm as still water, completely devoid of emotion.

She took a deep breath and continued, I got swapped the moment I was born. It took twenty years before I was finally brought home, but I was never the girl you were hoping for. So, what makes you think you have any right to celebrate my birthday?

With that, Victoria didn’t even look at Simon and Curtis again. She turned and walked straight back into the courtyard.

As Victoria left, the gate slowly swung shut, leaving Simon and Curtis outside.

Victoria walked back into the living room and saw Daisy and Hector sitting on the couch, looking over at her.

Victoria, come here and check out the evening gown I designed for you,Daisy said.

Seeing the scene in front of her, Victoria felt a warm feeling in her heart. She broke into a happy little run and hurried over. Yay, Mom-!Victoria chirped.

This is my real home, Victoria thought, feeling a sense of belonging wash over her.

Curtis, what’s your plan for the future?Simon asked quietly.

Outside the gate of Goldenwood Villa, Simon and Curtis lingered, not ready to leave. They just stood there, watching the glow of the living room lights from outside.

They could still faintly hear laughter and happy voices echoing from inside.

Simon opened the porcelain bottle and swallowed the pill inside.

Even if it’s the antidote, it’s still so bitter, Simon thought, grimacing.

Curtis’s eyes were full of determination. I’m going to keep writing songs and become the top artist in the music scene. When the time comes, I’ll throw the grandest concert ever and give Vickie the most unforgettable birthday celebration ever.

After a pause, he turned to Simon and asked, What about you, Simon? Now that Grandpa took the company away from you, what are you planning to do?

Simon lowered his gaze. After everything that’s happened, I realize now that staying healthy and alive matters more than anything. Maybe I need to try living a different way. I want to go stay in Mullinran Village for a while, to experience what Vickie went through back then.

Curtis looked surprised. You want to live in the village? Simon, Dad’s always had big plans for you. Do you think Dad will actually be okay with that?

Simon gave a wry smile. “I’m done just following whatever Dad says.

It was because I always listened to Dad that I drifted further and further away from Uncle and Aunt. Tonight, I wasn’t even allowed to set foot in Goldenwood Villa.

Back then, since Hector and Daisy didn’t have any kids and he worried they’d be lonely, he even told them he’d come by often to keep them company.

But as he got older, he ended up forgetting all those good intentions.

His dad always said he’d inherit most of the Binder family’s wealth, so he shouldn’t get too emotionally attached to Hector and Daisy. Even if they didn’t have kids now, they’d still be splitting the inheritance with him someday.

But now, he didn’t just lose the family fortunehe lost his connection with Hector and Daisy, too.

Curtis couldn’t argue with that.

Curtis, please don’t tell Mom and Dad about me moving out of Benwig City to live in Mullinran Village.Simon said, looking Curtis straight in the eye.

Curtis was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. Okay.”

After discussing all the details of the evening gown with Daisy, Victoria went back to her room. After her shower, she saw a message from Jackson that had come in ten minutes ago.

[Tomorrow, I’m planning to go to the nursing home and ask Donald about my brother’s whereabouts.]

Obviously, trying to find someone this way was pretty much a shot in the darkher chances were next to zero.

After feeding Greenie and the others, Victoria climbed into bed and pulled the covers over herself.

She grabbed her phone from beside her pillow, opened Jackson’s chat, and sent him a video call.

Almost instantly, the call connected. Victoria saw Jackson’s face pop up on the screen, and couldn’t help but smile. She teased, Jack, were you just sitting there with your phone, waiting for me to reply?

On the screen, Jackson’s face was as strikingly handsome as everimpossible to ignore.

His hair was a bit tousled, giving him an effortlessly casual vibe.

His lips curled into a gentle smile as he spoke softly, Yeah, I’ve been waiting with my phone for fifteen minutes, worried I might miss your message.

Victoria leaned back against the headboard, shifting around to get comfy. She got back to business, After your treatment tomorrow at noon, I’ll go with you to the nursing home.”

Jackson grinned. Sure, that’s what I had in mind too.

As he spoke, a hint of pain flashed in Jackson’s eyes.

Vickie, I still can’t bring myself to really press my dad, Donald, for answers, but I can’t keep dragging my feet about finding my brother,Jackson said, his voice heavy with emotion.
