The Tooth Lady Victoria called out in her heart.

Right, Victoria thought. Jackson got the dirt on the trafficker from Donald.”

The trathcker who snatched Jackson’s little brother was called Tooth Lady! Victoria realized.

Is this Mrs. Tooth somehow connected to the one who took Jackson’s brother?‘ Victoria wondered.

Victoria had a lot for Mara to look into lately, and she was worried Mara might get swamped, so she hadn’t asked her to check out Mrs. Tooth yet.

But she never expected to find a clue from Lexi.

“This information means a lot to me, Victoria replied to Lexi.

Then she continued, “But like I said, Nathan has already taken Angelica. He knows you’ve been in contact with me, and he’s already got his eye on you. If you make another move, it could get really dangerous.”

But Lexi shot back, “If you want the tiger’s cub, you have to step into its den. My dad’s already parading his illegitimate son around the company. Just imagining that guy taking over someday keeps me up at night. Every time I close my eyes, all I see is my mom, unable to rest in peace.”

‘I’ll be careful. If anything really happens to me, my lawyer will deliver the share transfer agreement I’ve already signed to you. When that day comes, all I ask is that you help me get justice for my mom and me.”

Listening to Lexi, Victoria found herself admiring her even more.

‘I’ll send you something by local courier soon. It’s a gadget my dad’s company developed, it keeps tabs on your location in real time, plus it’s got some self–defense features built in. If anything goes down, I’ll be the first to know,” Victoria said.

There was a brief pause, then Lexi laughed softly. “Thanks, Victoria.”

Her voice sounded lighter, almost cheerful. “Ever since my mom died, it’s been so long since anyone cared about me like

this.”

‘Most people only see my looks or think about marrying me off for some benefit.”

“But you’re the only one who truly cares about my safety.”

Hearing those words, Victoria found herself remembering her own childhood.

She might never have known the love of her real parents, but she was lucky–her adoptive father treated her like his own, and her uncles and aunts taught her everything they knew.

If anything, she was never short on love. Her life was overflowing with it.

Victoria snapped out of it and said, “Don’t talk like you’re saying your final words. The ones who really deserve to pay are your dad who betrayed your mom, the homewrecker who ruined her life, and those people trying to steal the company your parents worked so hard for.”

Even though Gavin hadn’t contacted Annie in ages, Annie still messaged Victoria every night, sharing all the funny things from her day.

Victoria genuinely saw Annie as her own little sister now.

‘I hope someday we can meet up and talk openly, without having to worry about anything,” Lexi said.

“We will,” Victoria replied.

After hanging up, Victoria thought it over. She decided to hold off on telling Jackson about Mrs. Tooth for now.

She figured it’d be best to wait until she had proof Mrs. Tooth was actually connected to the trafficker. If it was just a coincidence, she didn’t want to get his hopes up only to let him down.

Even after getting a lead on his little brother, Jackson didn’t let it throw him off. He handed the investigation over to Ollie and kept things running smoothly at work, making sure everything stayed on track.

Just worrying wouldn’t help. If he wanted to keep his little brother safe down the line, he had to hold onto his spot as the Thornton heir.

It wasn’t until after dinner, while Jackson was playing chess with Gerry in the study as part of their usual routine, that he got a call from Ollie with an update on the investigation.

“Jackson, the Tooth Lady died twenty–two years ago. She only had one daughter, but after she died, the daughter disappeared,” Ollie reported.

Jackson stayed calm. If Ollie had only dug up something that trivial, he wouldn’t have bothered calling.

Jackson didn’t bother hiding it. “Yeah, just wanted to ask if he knew anything about my little brother.”

“Did you find out anything?” Gerry asked.

“Yes, I did. I had Ollie investigate, and he uncovered a lead,” Jackson replied.

Gerry paused for a moment, then warned, “Find your little brother as soon as possible, and keep it quiet. If anyone else finds out, he could become leverage against you–especially with the Clark family. Nathan’s been watching your every move. If he realizes Cassian isn’t actually your real brother, he’ll go all out, even crazier than you, to hunt him down first and use him to control you.”

“I understand, Grandpa. Even if Nathan gets to my brother before I do, I’ll never give him a chance to threaten the Thornton family.” Jackson replied, steady and unflinching.
