Chapter 400
Victoria had Ashley stay with Ume, who was brought in by Brightstar Entertainment to help out. “Ume, make sure you look after her.” Victoria said, giving her a special reminder and using her usual affectionate nickname.
Ume gave a playful salute. “Don’t worry, boss!”
After giving her instructions, Victoria turned to Ashley. “It’s not much, but it’ll have to do for now. I’ll have someone bring your things over tomorrow.”
Ashley looked around the apartment. It wasn’t as luxurious as the villa she had stayed in before, but it was warm and cozy. “It’s fine. I’ve lived in much rougher places. Just get rid of my old things; I still have money, so I’ll go shopping for new ones tomorrow.”
“Alright.” Victoria said. After she left, Ume grabbed Ashley’s arm and asked, “I’ve got two small rooms in this apartment. Do you want your own room, or do you want to bunk with me?”
Before Ashley could reply, Ume went on, “Let’s just share a room. My bed’s a ten–foot–wide monster, and with our tiny bodies, we’ll have plenty of space.”
Ashley felt a little out of it and said, “Either way works for me.”
Her agent had been blowing up her phone, but Ashley had ignored every call. Now that she was finally settled, she picked up.
The moment Ashley answered, her agent exploded, “Ashley, what the hell is going on? You vanished for a whole night! Do you even know who you are now? Why aren’t you back yet? Where are you? I’ll come pick you up…”
Before Ashley could get a word in, Ume snatched the phone and chirped, “Oh, we’re chilling down in the lower realm with its ruler. Better hurry if you’re coming to get us.”
“Wait… who are you?” the agent stammered.
“I’m the Reaper, waiting for you! Come on down to the lower realm and find me!” Ume teased.
With that, Ume hung up. “Is that your agent or your owner? Who talks to you like that? Get yourself a new agent! Actually, scratch that; just join Brightstar Entertainment instead!”
Ashley stayed silent. Her agent was someone Steven had picked out for her, and honestly, he was just there to keep tabs on her every move.
Now that she was trying to break free from Steven, there was no point in keeping this agent around anymore.
Since Ashley was quiet, Ume left her alone. After all, she was here to pitch in at Brightstar Entertainment, and she had her own stuff to take care of.
Ashley pulled out her phone and posted an official response to Victoria’s invitation on X, tagging her in the post. [Sounds good, let’s make this partnership awesome.]

Victoria returned to the Binder family, parked her car, and headed straight for Silverwood Villa. When she reached the door to the room where Geoffrey was being kept, she asked the bodyguard standing outside, “How’s he doing?”
The bodyguard replied respectfully, “As you instructed, we had someone treat his wounds. His injuries are basically fine now.”
“Alright,” Victoria nodded, then turned the door handle to check on him, only to find it locked from the inside.
“Open the door!” Victoria ordered, her voice quiet but laced with undeniable authority.
The room was completely silent, no response at all.
Victoria’s tone became sharper. “You’ve got ten seconds. If you don’t open up, you’ll face the consequences yourself.”
Then she began counting slowly, “One, two…” When Victoria counted to nine, the door suddenly creaked
open.
Geoffrey appeared in the doorway, rubbing his eyes and yawning, clearly just dragged out of bed.
“Victoria, you’re back,” he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep. His hair was wild, and he wore nothing but a pair of loose pajama pants, his bare torso showing off his perfect body.
The room was filled with warmth, and as the door opened, a wave of cozy air washed over Victoria. Even with scars marking his skin, Geoffrey looked irresistibly attractive under the lights. His muscles flowed naturally, as if he were a masterpiece sculpted by an artist.
Without saying a word, Victoria raised her hand and slapped Geoffrey across his still–swollen face. The slap snapped him out of his pretend drowsiness in an instant.
He was totally dazed. ‘Is this woman a tyrant or what?‘ he thought, completely baffled. ‘Why does she never play by the rules? She just hits me out of nowhere; not even a heads–up!‘
He went for this look on purpose, hoping to mess with Victoria’s head, but it was totally useless.
Victoria rubbed her palm, sounding super casual. “Hey, Geoffrey, don’t lock your door when you’re here at home. What if something happens and I can’t help you?”
Geoffrey covered his face, pissed but not daring to say a word. “Yeah, I get it. Sorry for making you worry.”
“Did you think about Nathan today?” Victoria asked.
Geoffrey paused, then shook his head. “Think about him? I’d sooner kill him than miss him. If he hadn’t beaten me up so bad…”
Victoria cut him off. “So since I roughed you up today, you want to kill me, too, huh?”

“No, not at all!” Geoffrey said nervously. “You’re just helping me pay for my
mistakes!”

Victoria narrowed her eyes, clearly pleased. “That’s my good boy, love the attitude. Maybe I’ll let easier tomorrow. Alright, get some rest tonight. Tomorrow, come to Goldenwood Villa again and have breakfast with us.”
“Okay, goodnight, Victoria,” Geoffrey forced a smile.
After Victoria left Silverwood Villa, Geoffrey watched her walk toward Goldenwood Villa from the window. Then he turned around and kicked the dressing table hard.
Everything on the dressing table went flying, scattering all over the floor. “That bitch Victoria!‘ he fumed. ‘One day, I’ll make her regret ever messing with me!‘
But Victoria had confiscated his phone and all his means of communication. ‘How am I supposed to get in touch with Nathan and get him to bust me out of here?‘ he thought, feeling totally stuck.

Back at Silverwood Villa, Daisy and Hector were both hanging out in the living room.
When Victoria walked in, Daisy looked up and asked, “Who did you have dinner with today? Did you eat enough? Want me to have Mabel whip up some dessert for you?”
Victoria walked over and said, “Had dinner with a female celeb.”
“Oh… Ashley Rivera?” Daisy guessed.
“Yeah, how did you know, Mom?” Victoria said as she sat down on the couch and put her arm around Daisy.
Daisy laughed. “Don’t think I’m too old for X. I saw it trending; Ashley replied to you, so I guessed you were meeting her tonight.”
“Oh? She already posted a response? Let me check,” Victoria said, grabbing the tablet from the couch and pulling up X.
Sure enough, “Ashley Rivera Response” was trending. Her announcement about joining the Chasing the Dream crew had set X on fire.
[Damn! So we’re the real clowns here for defending her!]
[Well, we really put our trust in the wrong person! We cared so much about you, and you just stabbed us in the back!]
[Whatever! Serves you right for getting hurt by that scumbag!]
[We tried to warn you, but since you won’t listen, let’s just wait and see how badly you crash and burn this time!]
[Wild guess, but did Ashley say yes to Victoria because she and Brian are back together?]
