“Mom, I’m back,” Victoria called out as she stepped into Goldenwood Villa,

Daisy rushed out, her eyes brimming with happy tears. “You’re finally home! Your dad just got released from the police and came back. He’s taking a shower right now.”

Victoria smiled. “That’s wonderful.”

That was when Daisy finally noticed Jackson, who was sitting in a wheelchair that Victoria was pushing

Jackson gave a gentle smile. “Sorry to bother you, Mrs. Binder. I’ll be staying here again tonight.”

“Oh, it’s no trouble at all. This is your home now, too. You can stay whenever you want,” Daisy said with a warm smile.

“Have you had dinner yet? Oh, wait, I saw your livestream. You already ate. Are you still hungry? Mabel is cooking, so you can have some more if you want,” she added.

Victoria grabbed a jar of freeze–dried treats and said, “I’m going to take a shower. You hang out with them for a bit.”

Jackson took the snacks and nodded. “Yeah.”

Once Victoria went into the bathroom, Jackson took out the freeze–dried snacks and started playing with the three little snakes.

At first, Greenie didn’t give him the time of day.

But Blackie was super enthusiastic, scarfing down treats and looking as happy as could be.

In the end, Greenie just couldn’t resist anymore and slithered over, its little eyes fixed on the treats in Jackson’s hand

Jackson shook the treats in his hand, coaxing, “Want some?”

Greenie stubbornly turned its head away, and Jackson chuckled. “Fine, Whitey, it’s yours.”

Whitey snapped up the treat and slithered back to its nest, munching away happily.

However, Greenie looked all puffed up and sulky.

Jackson kept coaxing it. “If you want some, just give me a nod.”

Greenie was practically drooling for the snack, so it had to swallow its pride. After a long pause, it finally nodded

Jackson let out a soft laugh and handed over the freeze–dried treat.

Greenie grabbed the snack and slithered away, like staying even a second longer would be a crime against itself.

Jackson set the jar of freeze–dried snacks on the desk and looked over toward the bathroom.

The sound of running water filled the air.

He could vaguely see Victoria’s silhouette behind the frosted glass, covered in beads of water.

His throat tightened, and his body started to feel hot.

Ten minutes later, Victoria stepped out in her slippers and pajamas, steam swirling around her. The skin exposed outside her sleepwear was tinged with a tempting blush.

As soon as she got close, Jackson pulled her into his arms and kissed her out of nowhere.

The lingering steam on her skin made Victoria’s cheeks flush even more.

Greenie, munching on freeze–dried snacks, glared at Jackson, all annoyed while Blackie turned away and burrowed back into its nest.

Whitey only let out a big yawn and settled in for a nap.

Victoria straddled Jackson’s lap, passionately returning his kiss, unable to pull herself away.

They only reluctantly parted when they were both breathless, their lips separating in perfect harmony.

“You just couldn’t help yourself, huh?” Victoria teased, reaching up to stroke Jackson’s face.

‘God, he’s handsome,‘ she thought. She could stare at that face forever and never get bored.

Jackson caught her hand, holding it tight, his voice low and husky. “Yeah, but I have to hold back. I want it to be perfect for you.”

Victoria grinned. “You know, you don’t have to do everything. I can make it amazing for you too.”

Jackson took her hand and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of it, his voice even huskier. “Just wait a little longer. When the moment’s perfect, we’ll make it unforgettable for each other.”

“Alright,” Victoria said. But honestly, the waiting was just as hard on her. She was just as eager as Jackson.

She couldn’t wait for Jackson’s legs to fully heal, so he could sweep her off her feet and take her straight to cloud nine-

After lingering in each other’s arms, Jackson said, “Alright, I’m going to take a shower. Get some rest. You and Mr. Binder have to go to court tomorrow.”

Victoria nodded. “Okay, so no video call tonight, then.*
