**TITLE: Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah 146**
**Chapter 146**
**Sienna’s POV**
It was infuriating, absolutely maddening. Even after all this time had passed, even after they had unceremoniously cast me aside and treated me like I was nothing, my family still chose to shower their affection upon this random human.
From my vantage point in the doorway, I watched the scene unfold—a sight that twisted my insides with rage. My brother, the one who had once been my closest ally, now embraced this woman with a warmth and tenderness that I had never experienced from him. It was as if each hug he gave her was a dagger, driving deeper into my heart, igniting a firestorm of resentment within me, a blaze that consumed everything in its path.
When I had returned, he hadn’t welcomed me with open arms. No, our reunion had been steeped in accusations and demands, a bitter exchange that left me reeling. I had never imagined that he could harbor such hatred for me. It was a truth I found hard to swallow, yet I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was not without reason.
Everything had been perfectly fine—normal, even—until Amelia had waltzed into our lives.
And then there was Alpha Damien, a figure who had once inspired fear and respect among my pack. Look at him now! Reduced to a mere shadow of his former self, he stood at a distance, his gaze lingering on his wayward wife with the longing of a lost puppy, desperately searching for its owner.
Once a formidable leader, he was now an embarrassment, a fallen king whose power had slipped through his fingers like grains of sand.
Amelia must be a witch. There was no other explanation. She had ensnared the hearts and minds of these men, twisting them to her will. My last hope lay in convincing my dear uncle, the Alpha King, for he alone possessed the authority to challenge her influence.
With a sense of urgency, I turned on my heel and hurried to find him, determined to share my fears and to warn him before Amelia could weave her web of deceit around him as well.
**Amelia’s POV**
My reunion with Jake was fleeting, a moment snatched away before I could fully grasp its significance. The palace guards swiftly intervened, separating us like a cruel twist of fate. Damien rushed forward, seemingly eager to rescue me, but the guards kept him at bay, effectively isolating me from the one person I longed to be near.
“It’s part of the process,” Jake called out, his voice echoing through the corridor as he walked alongside the guards escorting me toward the palace. The distance between us felt like an insurmountable chasm. “They will bring you before the king, and we will all speak. Don’t be afraid, Amelia. Just tell him the truth.”
“That’s enough,” one of the guards barked, shoving Jake back with a forceful hand.
“Don’t be afraid.” Those words rolled off his tongue easily, but the reality was far more daunting. As I was led through the labyrinth of the palace, a place that felt both magnificent and ancient, I could feel the weight of uncertainty pressing down on me.
Just tell the truth. But how could I, when the very thought of Damien’s betrayal twisted my heart? Despite the pain he had caused me, I still loved him deeply. I still yearned for him to be a part of our child’s life.
The guards finally brought me to a small, dimly lit side room, furnished with a modest sofa and a delicate coffee table.
“Rest here until the king is ready for you,” one of the guards instructed before stepping out, leaving only one behind to keep watch.
I couldn’t fathom where they thought I would run. I moved to the couch and sank down into its soft embrace, the cushions enveloping me in a sense of comfort that was a stark contrast to the turmoil swirling in my mind.
Even amidst the fear that coursed through my veins, I found solace in the quiet. I stretched out, allowing my weary bones to relax, even if just for a moment.
