Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 255

**Chapter 255**

**Amelia’s POV**

The moment I stepped out of Stacy’s room, I felt as if the dam holding back my emotions had burst. Until then, I had managed to keep myself composed, but now, a tumultuous wave of feelings surged over me, threatening to pull me under.

It was overwhelming—so many emotions tangled together that I couldn’t quite untangle them to see which ones weighed the heaviest on my heart.

I was filled with concern for Stacy, my heart ached for the pain Amelia must have suffered, and I felt a deep sense of empathy for everything Damien was navigating. At the same time, I was wounded by his rejection and seething with anger towards Claire, who seemed to be at the epicenter of this emotional storm.

The whirlwind of feelings left me disoriented, spinning in circles as I tried to make sense of it all.

Just then, my gaze landed on Sienna standing a few paces away, and I felt an urgent need to reach her, to find solace in a familiar face. Sienna was my sister—though we often clashed, she remained my steadfast ally through life’s trials. That bond was the essence of sisterhood; no matter the disagreements, we always found our way back to each other.

If only Amelia were still here, I thought, I would have been there for her too.

“You look unwell,” Sienna remarked, her brow furrowed with concern. “Did something happen?”

“Damien kicked me out of Stacy’s room,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

“Well, you didn’t belong there,” Sienna shot back, her tone sharp. “You’re not part of that family. You should have left with the rest of us.”

Her words struck a chord, and I nodded, knowing she was right. Yet, a sharp pang of hurt lingered. Why did it feel like a personal rejection, a wound that stung deeply?

I had so much more to say to Sienna, to share my swirling thoughts, but before I could gather my words, several other Healers approached, including the Head Healer of the hospital.

“Truly, you’ve performed remarkably today, Annette,” the Head Healer praised, a glimmer of admiration in her eyes. “You must have graduated from the finest Healer school. Where did you receive your training?”

“Uh…” I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. “I’m still an apprentice. Working with Dr. Wyatt? From my brother’s pack.”

Their expressions shifted, surprise evident on their faces.

“Only an apprentice?” gasped one healer, incredulity lacing her tone.

“How can that be?” murmured another in hushed tones. “She possesses the talent of a master.”

“Dr. Wyatt…” the Head Healer mused. “Wasn’t she part of Alpha Damien’s pack?”

I felt a twinge of confusion. “She was?”

“She transferred to Alpha Jake’s pack about six years ago, Head Healer,” another healer chimed in.

Questions flooded my mind. Why had she left? What had transpired that led to her departure?

“Ah,” the Head Healer nodded knowingly. “Well, I have no doubt you will soon surpass even her skills. I foresee you becoming a remarkable pediatrician in the near future, mostly because you already are one.”

“Thank you,” I said, my heart swelling with gratitude. Despite the chaos swirling within me, the Head Healer’s words provided a beacon of hope, guiding me through the turmoil.

For so long, I had felt adrift, yearning to help but uncertain of how to channel my desire. Yet here, in this moment, with the Healer’s encouragement, I could finally glimpse my purpose again.

I could be a Healer for children, assisting the most innocent among us. It appeared I possessed some innate skill, my mind and hands weaving together solutions I hadn’t even known were within my grasp. With more training and practice, I felt confident that there was nothing I couldn’t achieve.

Yes, I would become a pediatrician. What could be a more fulfilling use of my time?

Caught up in my excitement for the future, I momentarily forgot about Sienna beside me until I heard a low growl escape her lips. Startled, I turned to her, seeking to understand what had shifted.

Confused and uncertain, I glanced around the waiting room. Mom and Dad were deep in conversation with a few familiar faces from the Alpha King’s palace, but I didn’t know them well enough to approach.

Sitting beside Mom, seemingly lost in her own world, was Amy.

She looked so small on the oversized chair, her legs swinging back and forth, never quite touching the ground.

The expression on her face as she stared down at her lap tugged at my heartstrings. It was as if all her emotions had been drained away, leaving her blank and hollow, much like I felt inside.

In that moment, I understood where I was needed. No one, especially a young girl, should have to endure such feelings of loneliness and despair.

Gathering my resolve and pushing aside my own confusion and hurt, I made my way over to Amy and settled beside her.

At first, she didn’t look up, but I caught her sneaking glances at me, trying to be discreet in her curiosity—though, as a six-year-old, her attempts were anything but subtle.

“Your sister is doing much better,” I said, hoping to lift her spirits.

Instantly, her face brightened, and she looked at me with wide, hopeful eyes. “Really?”

I nodded, my heart swelling with warmth. “I was just in there. She’s still resting, but I bet it won’t be long before she wakes up and you’re called in to see her.”

A smile broke across Amy’s face. “Thanks, Mom. I was so scared she was…” She hesitated, and although she didn’t say it, I knew she meant dying.

“She’ll be right as rain in no time,” I reassured her, my voice steady.

It was only after I spoke that I realized she had called me ‘Mom’ again. The familiarity of it felt so natural that I hadn’t even noticed at first. And now, seeing her smile as if I had given her the universe, it felt too late and too cruel to correct her.

Deep down, I harbored a secret: I didn’t want to correct her at all.
