Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 76

**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah**
**Chapter 76**

The night stretched endlessly, a dark canvas painted with my swirling thoughts and gnawing worries. Sleep eluded me like a fleeting shadow, and each tick of the clock echoed my anxious heartbeats. If only I could grasp a single thread of insight, surely I could unravel the tangled web Amelia was weaving. I could save everyone, I just knew it, before she unleashed the final, devastating strokes of her plan that threatened to engulf us all in chaos.

Dawn broke, ushering in another one of Amelia’s dreaded appointments. The air was thick with tension, a palpable unease that gripped the entire pack. Each appointment day felt like a countdown to an impending storm. I had heard whispers that Damien himself was accompanying the doctor this time, though I had yet to lay my eyes on him.

Gwen had recounted tales of the first visit, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she described the dramatic scene: Jake and Damien nearly clashing, tempers flaring, and emotions running high. Even in the following visits, the atmosphere crackled with unspoken words and unresolved conflicts.

The thought of watching my brother engage in a brawl with another Alpha, especially over Amelia, filled me with dread. Yet, I couldn’t deny the morbid curiosity that tugged at me. I was drawn to the drama like a moth to a flame, unable to look away.

As the appointed hour arrived, I positioned myself behind the counter at the nurses’ station, anticipation coursing through my veins. The nurse on duty was practically bouncing on her heels, her enthusiasm infectious.

“Alpha Damien is so handsome,” she gushed, her eyes gleaming. “Almost as handsome as Alpha Jake.”

“Sure, whatever,” I replied, my tone dripping with indifference. I had seen Damien, and yes, he was undeniably attractive. But that only fueled my irritation. Amelia was beautiful in her own right, but she was no supermodel or film star. What was it about her that had these men so utterly captivated? They must have been under some sort of spell.

Amelia stood in the hallway, deep in conversation with Healer Eve, when Dr. Wyatt and her entourage swept into the hotel lobby. My eyes immediately locked onto Damien, who was moving purposefully among them.

They bypassed the reception desk, heading straight for the back. As soon as Amelia caught sight of them, she straightened her posture, a mix of surprise and resolve washing over her features.

“Amelia, it’s wonderful to see you again,” Dr. Wyatt greeted warmly, her voice carrying a hint of familiarity that made me uneasy.

Then, with a graceful sidestep, Damien stepped forward, a wrapped gift cradled under his arm. He presented it to Amelia with an air of casual confidence. “I’ve been told you wanted to receive my gifts from me.”

My response was immediate and visceral. I scoffed, disbelief coursing through me. What on earth? This was the same brute Amelia had been fleeing from? A man so deeply invested in her and her child that he felt compelled to bring her a gift?
