Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 92

**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah 92**
**Chapter 92**

Eve’s perception of me as a brute stung, even if I tried to brush it off. Her opinion, while not entirely pivotal in my life, weighed heavily on my conscience. After all, she was someone who shared a bond with Amelia, and I felt an overwhelming urge to prove that I harbored no ill intentions.

If I could manage to sway Eve and Dr. Wyatt to see things from my perspective, maybe, just maybe, Amelia would follow suit. That thought lingered in my mind, propelling me forward as I made my way through the dimly lit corridors of the hospital, the records room my destination. I wasn’t entirely certain of its location, but I had observed Amelia walking this path numerous times in the past.

As I passed the nurses’ station, my eyes darted toward the open doors lining the hallway. Some were firmly closed and locked, but many others stood ajar, revealing glimpses into the lives of the hospital’s administrators, hunched over their desks, lost in paperwork.

In one particular office, a young woman was scribbling furiously. Her desk was positioned conveniently near the entrance, allowing me a clear view of her work. I squinted, my curiosity piqued; her signature bore an uncanny resemblance to Amelia’s.

I paused, studying her more closely. Wait a minute, this was Alpha Jake’s younger sister, wasn’t it?

Her name eluded me—Selena? Sienna? It didn’t truly matter in that moment.

When she noticed my gaze, her expression shifted to one of alarm, her eyes widening with guilt. What had I just stumbled upon?

Without a second thought, I leaned forward and snatched the paper from beneath her pen. The pen had still been pressed against the page, leaving a long, dark streak that bisected the signature, now unmistakably Amelia’s. I recognized it all too well; after all, she was my wife.

I turned my attention back to the young woman, a sense of urgency swelling within me. What was her name again? It was frustratingly unimportant.

“What the hell are you doing?” I demanded, though the answer was painfully clear. She had been forging Amelia’s name on what appeared to be some sort of medical form.

I skimmed the document quickly, my heart racing.

A request for emergency surgery…?

Before I could press her for answers, a ruckus erupted in the hallway, voices raised in agitation. Someone was shouting.

Listening intently, my heart dropped. Was that Amelia’s voice?

“Stop! Stop at once!”

“Show me the patient’s file,” Eve instructed sharply, taking control of the unfolding situation.

One of the surgeon’s assistants dashed away to retrieve the file, returning promptly to hand it over to Eve.

Eve opened the folder and began to read through its contents with practiced efficiency.

“You were right to halt this procedure, Amelia,” she finally said, her voice steady after a moment of contemplation. “But you were wrong to have scheduled it in the first place.”

“I didn’t,” Amelia insisted, her voice trembling with conviction. “I’m sure I didn’t.”

Eve lifted one of the pages from inside the file, revealing a form that resembled the emergency surgery request I had intercepted from Sienna.

And there, at the bottom, was Amelia’s signature.
