Wendy’s words somehow made Lydia look like the unreasonable one.
Connor let out a cold laugh. “Fine. She can kneel and say it a few more times. We’ll just treat it like a joke.”
“You…” Wendy was fuming.
Janet glared at Lydia and Connor, her face red with anger. “I’m the sister of the Princess of Country Y. One day I’ll be a princess myself. How could I possibly kneel to her and call her Grandma?”
She turned to her grandfather, eyes full of hurt. “Grandpa, you saw this. Please be fair. It’s a family holiday dinner. Can’t we even joke around a little?”
Damien was angry too, thinking Lydia was being way too self-important. “Lydia, we’re all family. We’re just having some fun. Do you really need to take it so seriously? You’re ruining the mood for everyone.”
Blake, face frosty and voice cool, finally spoke up. “You guys were the ones who started all this by mocking Lydia. You made the bet yourself. Now Lydia’s proven herself, and instead of apologizing, you’re blaming her? Isn’t that just picking on Lydia? Or do you think the Norwood family is easy to push around?”
Damien was at a loss for words, but he couldn’t truly offend his brother’s family or the Norwoods. They had other reasons for coming back.
He gave Janet a stern look. “Janet. You said it yourself. Now you have to keep your word.”
Damien sighed heavily, looking away. They’d really underestimated Lydia. He’d have to find another chance to put her in her place.
“Grandpa!” Janet was beyond shocked. She couldn’t believe her own grandfather was making her kneel to Lydia and call her Grandma.
Wendy hadn’t expected it either. She turned to her father-in-law. “Dad…”
Damien just gave her a meaningful look. “Let the kids handle it. We shouldn’t interfere.”
Wendy took the hint and bit her lip, staying quiet. Chloe didn’t want their real reason for coming home to get messed up, so she put on a gentle face and tried to comfort Janet. “Janet, Grandpa’s right. Just treat it like a game between sisters. Maybe it’ll even help you and Lydia get closer. When Lydia visits Country Y, you two can hang out.”
The real message was clear. Janet needed to swallow her pride for now. When Lydia came to their country, they could get their revenge.
Janet felt like she’d just swallowed a bitter pill. She’d only said those words without thinking, never expecting Lydia would actually make her go through with it. Now she was being forced to kneel, and she could only grit her teeth and promise herself she’d pay Lydia back for this humiliation someday.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
