Christine looked worn out as she finished speaking. Lincoln let out a sigh. “Honestly, I think he’s lost his mind.”
Lydia paused, considering her words. “Have you, or anyone else, given him anything special to eat lately? Or even over the past few years?”
Christine frowned, confused. “Miss Norwood, what do you mean by special?”
Lydia didn’t beat around the bush. “His pulse is all wrong.”
Lincoln jumped in right away. “See? I told you, he’s not normal!”
Lydia explained, “It’s not just wrong, it’s almost too normal, if that makes sense.”
Lincoln looked totally lost. “Wait, what?”
Lydia went on, “Usually, by the time a man hits seventy, his pulse is a little weaker. It doesn’t feel as strong when you check it. If he had conditions like anemia or an overactive thyroid, his pulse might be stronger, but other signs would show up. The thing is, his health is perfect in every other way. And at his age, blood vessels tend to get tough and stiff, not soft and springy like when you’re young. But his… his feel just like a young guy’s. So I’m asking again, has he been taking something unusual?”
If not, there’s no way he’d be like this.
Christine, Geovan, and Lincoln all went quiet, each lost in thought.
After a while, Christine spoke up. “He’s always taking supplements, but they’re the high-end kind, nothing sketchy as far as I know.”
Lydia thought for a moment. “I have a bad feeling about that housekeeper. You should keep an eye on her.”
Christine’s hands curled into tight fists. “I can’t believe she’d actually do something like that.”
She turned to Lydia, worry in her eyes. “Do you think she’s been giving him some kind of weird meds?”
“It’s possible.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
