Mr. Norwood was shaking, his whole body trembling with anger.

“Do you really think that’s the same? You think you can just give her money and send her away? Did you ever ask if that’s what she wants? Will she actually be happy if she leaves this family? You’re only thinking about yourselves.

“For your own daughter, you’re ready to throw Lucinda out. If that’s how it is, then throw me out too. I’ll go with Lucinda and we’ll live on our own. We won’t bother your precious little family ever again.”
