Ready to Rule The Real Heiress Strikes Back (Lydia and Connor) novel Chapter 1117

She took out her phone and snapped a picture of the soup and the test results, saving them just in case she needed them later.

Night had fully settled in when Tina came upstairs to call her down for dinner. Spotting the empty bowl in Lydia’s room, Tina couldn’t help but comment, “Lucinda spent all afternoon in the kitchen today. She made soup for your grandfather, your parents, and you. I really hope she’s changed for the better.”

What happened last night might have been kept from outsiders, but nothing escaped the sharp eyes of the house staff.

Lydia frowned slightly. “What kind of soup did she make for my parents?”

Tina answered politely, “For your father, she made pumpkin soup. For your mother, sweet mango soup. I think your grandfather’s was ginseng.”

Lydia doubted Lucinda wouldmess with their grandfather. However, after her parents tried to kick her out of the Norwood family today, Lucinda probably held a grudge.

“Did my parents had the soup?” Lydia asked.

Tina nodded. “They did. Lucinda was being so thoughtful, they couldn’t bring themselves to refuse.”

“Is there any left?”

Tina paused to think. “I don’t think so.”

Lydia gave a quiet order, “Next time she goes into the kitchen, watch her closely. Last time she made soup for Grandpa, he ended up in the hospital.”

Tina nodded quickly. “I understand, Lydia.”

Downstairs, the dining room glowed with warm, golden light, casting a cozy shine over a table full of amazing dishes.

Mr. Norwood sat at the head of the table, his eyes moving over everyone, his face all smiles. “After all we’ve gone through, we’re truly a family now. Let’s live well together. Lucinda, Lydia, you’re sisters. You should support each other and get along.”

Cameron set his fork down, his tone turning serious. “Lucinda, we can let this go for now. But if you really want to stay in the Norwood family, you need to make a real change.”

Lucinda’s eyes grew red as she looked at him, almost tearful. “Dad, I promise I’ll do better.”

Grandpa couldn’t take the tension anymore. “Alright, enough. Lydia already said to give Lucinda another chance. Let’s not dwell on it. Eat up.”

Lydia glanced at her grandfather, her gaze drifting to his wrist. He wasn’t wearing anything on it.

After dinner, Lydia headed back to her room. She had just opened her laptop when her phone buzzed with a new message.

It was from Professor Boris. “Miracle Hands, we’ve received your report. This is an important matter. Can we meet?”

Lydia thought for a moment before replying, “Tomorrow at three. Same place as always.”
