Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 118

Just when he thought he had her, Lydia grabbed his wrist in a tight, unyielding grip.

He grinned, sleazy and smug. “Lydia, the moment I saw you, I couldn’t take my eyes off you. Come on, let me show you a good time.”

She shot him a cold smile. “Is that so?”

“Of course, Lydia. Anything you want, just say the word. I’ll do whatever you wish.”

“Even die for me?” Lydia’s voice was icy, calm and sharp as a blade.

Henry hesitated, finally noticing the look in her eyes. By then, it was too late.

Lydia squeezed his wrist, hard. There was a loud crack, and a wave of blinding pain shot up Henry’s arm, spreading through his whole body.

He screamed, all the color draining from his face.

But Lydia wasn’t done.

She twisted his arm, winding it behind his back until he felt like it might snap. His next scream was even louder, echoing into the hallway. People outside the office stopped and stared, and Keith, waiting by the door, looked alarmed.

Lydia let go just long enough to bring her knee up under the desk, landing a perfect kick between Henry’s legs.

Henry gasped, then howled, curling up on the floor. His mind went blank. He nearly blacked out from the pain.

“Mr. Ragain!” Keith burst into the room, eyes wide in shock. His usually proud boss was on the floor, clutching his arm and rolling from side to side, moaning like a wounded animal.

“You! What did you do to Mr. Ragain?” Keith glared at Lydia, who stood there looking bored.

She looked down at him, her voice flat. “You? You’re just Henry, Mr. Ragain’s son. You strut around the company, throwing your weight around, abusing your position and bullying people. You’ve never done a single thing a real manager should do.”

Henry’s jaw clenched. He glared at Keith. “Keith! Get her! Teach her a lesson!”

Keith hesitated, glancing at Lydia. She didn’t look like much, but she’d just put his boss on the floor. And she was the president. If she wanted to call the police, he’d be in serious trouble. He shook his head.

“Mr. Ragain, you’re hurt. Let me take you to the hospital first.”

Henry was furious. “Scared now? Get her! If anything happens, I’ll take the blame!”

Lydia raised an eyebrow, amused. “Really? And what are you going to use to take the blame? Your dad’s title as Vice President?”

Henry spat out, “You stupid girl, do you know who my mother is friends with? One word from her to the richest woman in the country, and you’re done at Greenward Power. You’ll be out of Norwood Enterprises before you know it!”
