Ready to Rule The Real Heiress Strikes Back (Lydia and Connor) novel Chapter 1248

Lydia saw the scene and couldn’t help but smile.

Peyton was practically bouncing with excitement. “They’re calling this ‘mysterious power.’ Seriously, this is awesome!”

Marilyn and Yara looked like they were about to lose it. They were supposed to be the stars of the competition, but they’d gotten knocked out in the first round. Now Lydia was leading a whole team straight to the next stage. It was almost painful to watch them try to keep their cool.

After saying goodbye to the others, Lydia slipped into Connor’s car.

He honestly hadn’t expected Lydia’s trip for the international exam to be this intense. She was so busy she barely had time to eat, and he couldn’t help but feel a little protective.

“What do you want for dinner?” he asked.

Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Anything’s fine.”

She pulled out her phone and made a call.

The voice on the other end picked up immediately, sounding a little too excited. “Professor! You finally remembered me!”

Lydia let out a soft laugh. “I need to borrow your newest surgical robot. I’ll give it back tomorrow.”

“No problem at all, Professor! Use it as long as you want. Where are you? I’m out of the country, but I’ll have someone deliver it to you right away.”

Lydia shared the address, then hung up without another word.

Connor glanced over at her. “Was that one of your students?”

“Kind of. I helped guide him a bit.”

Connor nodded. “You know, I could just buy you one.”

She shot him a look. “Are you trying to waste money? I only need it for a couple of hours to run through some drills. No need to buy a whole robot.”

Inside, Connor easily fell into the role of her assistant. The space was still set up from the earlier session. Lydia had planned to hold some more training that evening, so she’d asked the staff not to clear anything away.

It didn’t take long before the surgical robot arrived.

Everyone stared in shock.

No one had expected Lydia to go this far for them, pulling strings to get a surgical robot delivered. How could someone be this smart and this thoughtful at the same time?

Seeing all those grateful faces made Lydia feel a little awkward. “I borrowed it from a friend. We have to return it tomorrow, so please, be careful while you’re using it.”

Everyone nodded enthusiastically.

These surgical robots cost a fortune. Most schools could only afford one or two for all their students to practice on. The wealthier ones might have a couple more, if they were lucky.

“Alright, let’s start the team practical,” Lydia said, pulling up the flowchart for collaborative CPR. “Remember, the robot is here to help, not do everything for you. If it ever breaks down, your hands are the last line of defense. Don’t forget that.”
