Erik was about ready to lose it with Marilyn. He could barely keep his voice steady. Gianna knew their daughter had messed up, but the girl had already been expelled and just taken a tongue-lashing that lasted forever. She must have been feeling terrible.
Gianna couldn’t help herself. “Okay, that’s enough. It already happened. Yelling at her now isn’t going to fix anything. So Capital Med School kicked her out. Big deal. We’ll find another school. There are plenty of schools in the city. You really think none of them will take her? I don’t like that girl called Lydia at all. She doesn’t act like an eighteen-year-old. Who knows what dirty tricks she’s been pulling behind the scenes.”
Victoria was standing off to the side, watching the whole thing without saying a word. Honestly, Gianna could be a handful. If Victoria spoke up, Gianna would just turn on her, so it was easier to sit back and watch the drama. Besides, Marilyn was a girl. She’d get married eventually. Getting expelled wasn’t the end of the world, just something that would pass. Of course, Victoria only thought about these things. She’d never say them out loud.
Erik’s chest was rising and falling as he tried to keep his anger in check. He glared at Gianna. “This is all because you spoil her. You just sit around all day and never teach her anything.”
Gianna looked hurt. “She’s still a kid. Kids make mistakes. That’s normal.”
Victoria jumped in right away. “If you two have so much free time, why not give me a grandson? That’s what you should be focusing on.”
Victoria was still clinging to her dream of having a grandson. She couldn’t help it. She was old-fashioned and always thought having a boy was the only way to carry on the family line. She’d suggested more than once that Erik find some smart college girl and have another son. Erik always said no, and she just didn’t get why. It seemed like such a good idea to her.
It wasn’t that Gianna didn’t want another child. She just couldn’t have one. Victoria’s latest comment made her face fall. “Mom, boys and girls are the same now. In the future, everything in the Bland family will go to Marilyn. She’ll take care of us and look after us just the same.”
Victoria made a face, clearly not buying it. Marilyn, on the other hand, was absolutely thrilled to hear it. She loved the idea. The whole Bland family fortune would be hers someday.

done reading lydia's story. thank you for sharing it....
thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
