Lydia’s fate didn’t matter to them. She could be gone tomorrow or in someone else’s bed tonight. Either way, they wouldn’t care.
Sandy’s reminder pulled Milana back to the reason they’d come. She glared at Lydia, blaming her for everything. Just seeing her was enough to make Milana’s skin crawl.
“Mom, we’ll leave these special antlers with you. Hope your leg heals up soon,” Milana said, her voice dripping with fake sweetness.
The old woman shook her head right away. “This is too expensive. I can’t accept it. You take it back.”
Sandy, clutching the gift box, went stiff.
Milana’s smile vanished. “Mom, we spent ten million on this just for you! We’re both in perfect health. We don’t need it.”
“Ten million?” Lydia walked up to Sandy and plucked one of the antlers from the box, turning it over with a smirk.
Sandy’s heart was pounding. No way Lydia could tell, right? As long as she said it was ten million, Lydia couldn’t prove otherwise.
“Lydia! Put that down right now! If you break it or mess up the medicine, you can’t afford to pay us back!” Milana snapped.
Lydia just looked at the antler, amused. “This is worth maybe a thousand. Both together, two thousand tops.”
Milana shrieked, “Lydia! Stop pretending you know anything! We bought these for ten million!”
Lydia raised her eyebrows. “Oh yeah? Which black market did you get them from?”
Milana hesitated. Her eyes darted to Sandy.
Sandy felt like Lydia was grinding her face into the floor. She glared at Lydia, voice shaking. “What makes you think these are only worth two thousand?”
She’d paid five thousand herself, so Lydia clearly didn’t know a thing.
Milana rolled her eyes. “She’s just making stuff up. She doesn’t know the first thing about medicine. If these antlers are only worth two thousand, I’ll eat my own head!”
Lydia’s eyes lit up. “You mean that?”
“I mean it!” Milana stood tall.
Lydia grinned. “Alright. For Grandma’s sake, you don’t have to eat your head. If I’m right, you and Sandy can each slap yourselves twenty times.”

done reading lydia's story. thank you for sharing it....
thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
