Kylie grinned. “Look at your sister. She’s busy every single day, always caught up in surgeries. How could she possibly have that much free time?”
Cameron nodded. “Exactly. Right now, her priority is the company, not herself. Once she helps the design team level up and the clothes start getting noticed, people will love them. Then the profits will just follow.”
Mr. Norwood joined in. “That’s true. If Greenward Power’s designers manage to win something at the international competition, it’ll put the company on the map. Everyone will know their designers are internationally recognized.” He had to admit, Lydia’s decision to let the design team compete was a smart move.
Lucinda just rolled her eyes in her mind.
“But… from what I’ve heard, Greenward Power’s designers are just average. If they don’t win anything at an international event, isn’t that just…” She didn’t finish the sentence, but everyone got the hint.
It would be mbarrassing.
Kylie didn’t agree. “Every designer has to go through a ton of setbacks before making it big. Even if they don’t win, getting to see all those talented people from around the world is a rare learning experience.”
Cameron was just as enthusiastic. “Exactly. I heard the founder of LYLX will be there this time. If Miss L gives them any advice, their design skills could skyrocket.” He sounded so excited, like he was the one about to compete.
Off to the side, Grace noticed Lucinda’s sour mood. She quickly stepped over with the teapot, topping off everyone’s cups as she said meaningfully, “If Lydia’s really as talented as Miss L, then Greenward Power could totally become as famous as LYLX. It could go global and bring in tons of clients.”
If Lydia loved to brag, they might as well hype her up even more. The higher she climbed, the harder she’d fall when reality hit.
Tina, not wanting to be left out, jumped in to help with the cups. “Grace is right. With Lydia’s talent, she’s bound to become someone as legendary as Miss L.”
Grace was so angry she nearly spilled boiling water on Tina’s face. If Mr. Norwood and Mrs. Norwood hadn’t been home lately, she would’ve thrown Tina out of the Norwood house ages ago. The nerve of her, acting like she could walk all over Grace. Had she been given too much slack?

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
