She really shouldn’t have doubted Miss L.
“Thank you. Your feedback made me realize where I need to improve.”
Lydia smiled, giving her a gentle nod. “You’re incredibly talented. As long as you find the right path, I know you’ll shine in your own way very soon.”
So when it came time to vote, Lydia didn’t hesitate. She gave her vote to Jenny without a second thought. She believed Jenny had both the natural gift and the drive to make it big in the fashion world someday.
Blake had been waiting for the award ceremony to wrap up so he could take Lydia out to dinner and catch up. He never imagined that before anything even started, Lydia would suddenly get up, pull on a cap and mask, and walk right past him, whispering, “Blake, see you.”
She didn’t have a second to waste. If she stayed any longer, things could get out of hand. She’d just hacked into Greenward Power’s security system overseas, and someone had noticed. She’d been careful, but the Viper crew was sharp. Last time, when she broke into the Capital’s police system, they’d tracked her down.
She needed to lead them somewhere quiet where she could take care of things herself.
Blake was caught off guard by how fast she left. From the look on her face, he could tell something urgent was going on. His brow furrowed and he shot up from his seat.
He pulled out his phone and called his assistant. “Jonas, there’s a girl with a black baseball cap and a mask. Watch her. Don’t let her out of your sight.”
Jonas was waiting just outside, keeping an eye out for his boss. As soon as he got the order, he straightened up, all business. “Got it, Mr. Norwood!”
He’d barely hung up the call when a stunning girl in all black, cap and mask in place, strode right past him. She had legs for days and moved with such confidence and speed that he almost forgot to breathe.
“I’m sharing my location right now.”
Blake’s voice was ice cold. “Don’t lose her. If it looks like she’s in danger, step in right away. If she gets hurt, you’ll be digging holes in Antartica till you retire. Send me your location immediately.”
He ended the call without another word. He didn’t really know what his sister was like, but he’d heard the rumors about Miss L. If someone as legendary as her was this on edge, it couldn’t be something small.
Jonas trailed Lydia, completely lost. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. Wasn’t this just the classic story? Ruthless CEO spots a quirky girl at an international event, follows her home, gets her number, flirts a little, confesses, proposes, gets engaged…
“Wait, where’d she go?” He hadn’t even finished his daydream when he realized the car ahead had vanished without a trace.

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
