Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 425

“Who’s there?”

Connor heard something and his gun was out in a flash, pointed right at Jonas.

“Wait, it’s me!”

“He’s one of us!”

Jonas and Lydia spoke up at the same time.

Jonas’s voice, though, was practically a scream. He was so scared Connor would pull the trigger that he sprang up, waving his arms and yelling at the top of his lungs.

Connor heard a guy’s voice and narrowed his eyes, his tone icy. “Who are you?”

He sounded completely cold, not a hint of emotion, and there was a clear edge in his voice.

Jonas ducked down, too afraid to show his face. He was pretty sure Connor thought he was some kind of rival.

“Mr. Jefferson, I’m with the Norwood family!” Jonas blurted out, stumbling over himself as he rushed over.

When Jonas got close, Connor finally remembered who he was.

Blake’s assistant. He’d seen him before.

Before Connor could say a word, another anxious voice echoed through the night.

“Lydia! Lydia!”

Blake had finally arrived with his men.

It was pitch black, and they’d been trying to stay hidden like Lydia told them, so it had taken a while to find her. But when they heard gunshots up on the mountain, they ran as fast as they could.

Blake spotted a tall shadow next to Lydia and immediately thought it was an enemy. He pulled his gun and aimed, ready to fire. “Get away from my sister!”

“Blake, I’m fine,” Lydia called out right away.

Connor also glanced at Blake and said, “Blake.”

Blake was caught completely off guard by it.

Jonas shuffled over to Blake and whispered, “Boss, she’s amazing. And… she’s the hacker L.”

Jonas couldn’t keep this to himself. Telling Blake made him feel safer. If he didn’t, he was honestly worried Lydia might make him disappear.

Blake was still trying to process the fact that Lydia had single-handedly taken down a squad of armed men when Jonas threw another shocker at him.

The legendary hacker L the one everyone talked about?

That was his own sister?

Blake had been through a lot in his life. He could usually keep his cool, no matter what. But right now, he was completely lost for words.

He just stood there, feeling like he’d turned to stone.

“Lydia, are you… really L?”

Lydia had never planned to keep it a secret from him. She nodded. “Yeah, Blake. But I need you to keep it between us, okay?”

Connor spoke up, his face serious. “They were after her because she’s L. That group from Southeast Asia three years ago have been hunting her for revenge.”
