Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 432

Jenny was stunned.

She always thought Lydia was just the Norwood family’s adopted daughter. She never imagined Lydia was actually their own flesh and blood. If the media ever found out about this, it would be absolute chaos.

Lydia seemed to catch on to Jenny’s thoughts and quickly added, “Please keep this between us. Don’t mention it to anyone at the company.”

Jenny could tell Lydia trusted her, and she understood why Lydia had to keep her real identity under wraps. It would only bring drama to the Norwood family if word got out.

Her head was still spinning, but she knew this wasn’t the time for questions. She nodded right away. “Don’t worry, Ms. Norwood. I won’t say a thing. I’ll just… head back to my room and finish packing.”

“Alright.”

Back in her room, Jenny tugged at her own hair, still in disbelief. She had actually thought Mr. Norwood was here to propose to Lydia. She’d even wondered if her boss was collecting admirers. Worse yet, last night she had wished them a long and happy life together.

Seriously, what was she even thinking? This was the biggest mix-up ever.

But if Lydia was really the Norwood family’s biological daughter, how come nobody outside the family had ever heard about her?

Meanwhile, Blake had filmed a video of all the gifts he got for Lydia and sent it to the brothers’ group chat. Since Kylie and Cameron had been asking if he prepared a welcome gift, he sent the video to their parents too.

Kylie’s eyes lit up the moment she got the video. She didn’t even care that Lucinda was right there with her. “Cameron, look at this. These are all the gifts Blake got for Lydia.”

Mr. Norwood noticed right away and gently patted the back of her hand. That snapped Lucinda out of it, and she realized she had let her true feelings show.

But Mr. Norwood didn’t say anything about it in front of Kylie and Cameron. He just smiled and said, “Lucinda, when you get to France, I’m sure your brother will have gifts ready for you too.”

Lucinda had always been treated like the family’s little princess. No matter who was coming home, they always brought her gifts. It was her own special privilege. Now, with someone else sharing that attention, it was hard for her to take. Mr. Norwood told himself she’d get used to it eventually.

“Grandpa, Blake has always given me plenty of gifts. I don’t need anything else,” she said in a small voice, feeling a little anxious.

Grace, who’d been watching the whole thing, couldn’t help but chime in with a tight smile. “Wow, Blake really spoiled Lydia this time. Look at all those gifts. There’s barely room to walk in there.”
