Lydia fired off another dart.
“Mom, help me! I’m your only son! Are you really just going to stand there and watch while Lydia does this to us?”
Jenson was nearly out of his mind with fear. The sensation of being hit, but not knowing exactly where, was terrifying.
The little dart gun strapped to Lydia’s wrist was her own invention, lightning fast and nearly silent. The needles it shot were finer than a strand of hair, so soft and tiny that they pierced skin without leaving much of a mark.
It felt like having a splinter stuck deep under your skin, impossible to find and even harder to ignore. Leave it there for a few days, and it would get inflamed, maybe even fester. It wasn’t a life-threatening wound, but it was pure torment.
Lydia seemed to be having the time of her life, firing dart after dart, almost like she was playing a game.
Milana and Jenson screamed and scrambled to hide behind Sandy, their nerves shot, practically on the brink of losing it.
Sandy glared at Lydia, furious. “What do you want from us?”
Lydia scoffed, her eyes cold as she stared at Jenson and Milana.
“If you kneel and slap themselves a hundred times each, I’ll let you all walk out of here,” she said, spinning the little gun in her hand like she was just passing the time.
If Jenson and Milana had the nerve to abuse her grandmother while she was gone, then they deserved a taste of their own medicine.
Letting them off easy would be a waste. Watching them squirm was so much more satisfying.
Her words hit them right where it hurt.
“You… Shut up! After your grandma left the company, we managed everything. We supported you!” Jenson protested, puffing out his chest like that would make him sound convincing.
Lydia rolled her eyes. “Keep lying to yourselves. You’ve almost run the company into the ground, and you still think you’re business geniuses?”
Jenson and Milana were hopeless at business. When Lydia was a kid, Mrs. Smith had always been the one secretly fixing their mistakes. Later on, Lydia herself had to step in to clean up their messes and save their investments.
They really believed all of Smith Corporation’s success was because of them. How clueless could they be?
“Lydia, you think you can just do whatever you want because you found yourself a man? Move aside, or I’ll ruin you!” Milana snapped, her voice trembling with anger.

thank u!...

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
