As soon as Lydia walked out of the conference room, Josef was already waiting for her. “Ms. Norwood, there are two people downstairs who’ve been waiting for you for over three hours.”
Lydia arched an eyebrow. “Waiting for me?”
“The front desk called. They said they have an appointment with you.”
Lydia didn’t bother to ask who it was. “I don’t have any appointments with anyone here.”
Josef got the message right away. Whoever was downstairs had lied, just to get a chance to see Lydia.
“I understand, Ms. Norwood. I’ll call the front desk and ask them to send those two away.”
“Alright.”
It wasn’t the front desk’s fault. Honestly, people tried to get in to see Lydia every single day.
Downstairs, Joy was still dealing with Jenson and Milana, who were hovering around her desk, clearly hoping she’d call upstairs and check for them. She looked torn, which is when Josef’s call finally came through.
“It’s Josef. Ms. Norwood must be done with her meeting.”
Jenson and Milana both lit up, barely able to hide their excitement.
But when Joy actually answered the phone, her whole expression changed in an instant.
Jenson and Milana noticed her sudden shift. They realized she’d found out about their little lie, but honestly, they didn’t care. They were desperate to see Miss L. What was a small lie if it got them what they needed? It was just a harmless fib.
“Miss, we’re with Smith Corporation. We’ve worked with LYLX for years. We really do need to see Miss L today.”
Joy had already finished her call and looked at them, unimpressed. “If you’ve been working with LYLX for years, shouldn’t you be at LYLX instead?”
“Let the front desk and security know. If they show up again, keep them outside. Don’t let them in.”
Josef nodded. “Understood, Ms. Norwood.”
Jenson and Milana had been hopeful that, once Miss L knew who they were, she’d finally agree to meet them. But when Joy returned, her attitude had completely changed.
“I’m sorry, but Ms. Norwood has asked that you leave.”
Jenson and Milana just stared, stunned. So all their hopes had just been wishful thinking? Was it really Miss L who decided to cut off their partnership with LYLX?
Their protests didn’t matter. Security escorted them out the front doors.
Milana looked at Jenson, totally confused. “Did you do something wrong? Did you somehow offend Miss L?”

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...

the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
