Sandy used to think the Lane family had it pretty good, but now, seeing the people at this event, she realized the Lanes were nothing special. No wonder her parents had pulled every string to get her an invitation. Everyone here was on another level.
Suddenly, a ripple of excitement swept through the hall. Sandy glanced at the entrance and spotted a couple walking in with a girl about her age. All eyes were on them. They looked like a picture-perfect family.
Jenson and Milana also turned to look, just as someone nearby whispered, “That’s the richest family in the city.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Norwood are really blessed. Four sons and a daughter,” someone added.
“My daughter says the Norwoods’ little girl is treated like an absolute princess at home. She’s spoiled beyond belief.”
“Of course she is. Old Mr. Norwood is famous for doting on his granddaughter. After four grandsons, he finally got a little girl. How could he not spoil her?”
“Lucinda is probably the luckiest girl in the world.”
“Definitely. Her grandpa, her parents, and all four of her brothers adore her.”
Sandy watched Lucinda, who had her arm linked with Kylie’s, her heart filled with envy. They were both girls, so why did their lives have to be so different?
Lucinda’s pale yellow dress looked like it was made from sunshine, bright and warm. The skirt was soft and fluffy, like a cloud, fluttering with every move she made. Her hair was swept into a cute bun, with a few little curls falling down to frame her face, making her look even more playful. She was all smiles, her eyes sparkling with excitement. The pink clutch in her hand matched her dress perfectly.
Moving through the crowd with Cameron and Kylie, Lucinda really was like a little fairy spreading happiness everywhere she went. That yellow princess dress made her stand out like a ray of sunshine at the party.
Juna’s parents walked in first, with Juna and Lydia side by side behind them.
Juna was famous in the Capital for being beautiful and having a fiery personality. Tons of girls wanted to be her friend, and plenty of rich guys had tried to chase her, but no one ever got close.
So seeing her today with a girl who was almost unbelievably beautiful, her arm linked tightly with the girl’s, left everyone in shock. Whispers flew as people tried to guess who Lydia was.
Even Jenson, Milana, and Sandy were stunned when they saw her.
Milana’s jaw nearly dropped. “What is Lydia doing with Miss Davis?”

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
