Sandy spotted Soren, Clark, and Vivia the second they walked in. She thought about going over to say hi, but then she noticed all three of them whispering and glancing over at Lydia. Before she even had the chance to walk over, Soren was already making his way to Lydia.
She couldn’t hear what he said, but from the look on his face, it was obvious he was up to no good. The way he was smirking made her blood boil. What on earth did he see in Lydia? She couldn’t figure it out. Lydia had been with so many guys that people barely bothered to gossip anymore, but Soren was still acting like a lovesick fool.
Then, out of nowhere, Lydia slapped Soren twice, hard, and before Sandy could process what was happening, Lydia kicked him. Soren went flying and hit the ground so fast that it took a second for Sandy to realize what she’d just seen.
When she came to, Soren was already sprawled out on the floor, looking completely pathetic. It was humiliating to watch.
But she hadn’t come here tonight for nothing. She’d come for Soren, and she wasn’t about to let Lydia get away with this. So, she took her chance and rushed over, making a show of sticking up for him.
Lydia watched her with a spark of amusement in her eyes. “You really want to know what happened?”
Sandy fell silent. Honestly, she probably had a good idea.
“Soren! Soren, are you okay?” Clark and Vivia showed up out of nowhere, pushing through the crowd. Soren’s face was pale with pain, and Vivia’s voice turned shrill. “Lydia! How could you do this? How could you hurt my son like this?”
Vivia had once thought Lydia was all right, but seeing her son hurt like this, every ounce of goodwill vanished. There was no way she could like Lydia now.
Sandy saw her moment. “Soren, say something. Are you injured? Don’t scare us.”
She was only making things worse, but that seemed to be exactly what she wanted.
Vivia grew even more frantic. She crouched beside Soren, her own forehead breaking out in a cold sweat. “Soren, talk to me. Please. Don’t scare me like that.”
The message was clear. If he didn’t apologize, he’d be carried out instead.
Clark couldn’t believe Lydia was talking like this. “Lydia, Mrs. Smith wasted eighteen years trying to raise you right.”
Lydia rolled her eyes. “Maybe you should take a good look at your own son before you start acting like you know best.”
Clark looked like he was about to explode. He never thought Lydia would actually talk back to him, let alone insult him like this.
“Lydia, if Mrs. Smith could see you now, she’d be heartbroken. She’d never believe the girl she raised turned out like this,” Clark said, shaking his head like he was scolding his own daughter.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
