Lydia found herself almost admiring Sandy’s self-control. That girl could really hold her own.
Connor tried to comfort her. “Secrets don’t last forever. Whatever she’s hiding, we’ll find it.”
Lydia nodded. “Yeah, but first, I need to deal with Jenson and Milana.” If they wanted to dig their own graves, she wasn’t about to stop them. And honestly, she didn’t owe them anything anymore.
Connor hadn’t seen Lydia for two days. He couldn’t help himself. He pulled her into his arms, his voice soft and a little rough. “Let’s forget about them for now. Did Elliot give me a hard time?”
Lydia raised an eyebrow, giving him a look. “What do you think?”
Connor thought for a second, then laughed quietly. “Probably not. Maybe just a warning.”
“Seems like you got off easy, huh?” Lydia teased.
Connor dipped his head and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. He looked so grateful, like he’d just won the lottery. “I did. Honestly, I must be the luckiest guy alive.”
Having Lydia as his fiancée was more than he ever dreamed of. Even his grandfather had said so.
Lydia made a soft sound. “Glad you know it.”
Connor studied Lydia’s face. She was beautiful, every feature delicate, and his eyes drifted to her lips. He felt this urge in his chest, something restless and sweet.
He started leaning in, inch by inch. Lydia didn’t move away. She just looked at him, eyes calm.
Suddenly, Aiden, who was driving up front, turned his head and broke the moment. “Boss, do you want to pick up more gifts?” he asked, sneaking a look in the rearview mirror.
Of course, he caught sight of Connor about to kiss Lydia. The second he realized what he’d interrupted, he wanted to disappear.
Grace must’ve noticed her struggle. She held up a blue LYLX dress. “Lucinda, what about this one?”
Elliot had given her that dress just yesterday. It was gorgeous, but the fact that Lydia had designed it made Lucinda hesitate. It just felt weird to wear Lydia’s design right in front of her.
“Maybe something from another brand,” Lucinda said, her voice uncertain.
Grace wouldn’t let it go. “Lucinda, if you want Connor to notice you, or if you want people to compliment you, wear this one.”
Lucinda finally understood what Grace meant. Her face tightened.
Grace added, “If you don’t wear something Lydia designed, nobody’s going to care what you wear.”

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
