Connor looked a little caught off guard. He clearly hadn’t expected Elliot to think of him as a blockhead. But he quickly found his footing and grinned. “Guess I’ll just have to keep working hard to win everyone over.”
Elliot was honestly stunned. When had Connor ever acted like this? He used to be all stone-faced, with that permanent look that screamed “stay away” and “don’t mess with me.” No wonder everyone in the Capital called him the Ice King. But now, standing in front of them, it was like he was someone else entirely. Was this what falling in love did to a person?
Cameron stepped out, waving him in. “Connor, don’t just stand out there. Come inside.”
Kylie shot Elliot another look. If it weren’t for him, they’d already have Connor inside by now. Elliot rolled his eyes. Seriously? Was he already old news now that there was a son-in-law around?
They all headed inside just as Lucinda appeared at the top of the stairs. She was wearing a blue dress that flowed around her like a cloud, her dark hair curled and makeup done perfectly. She looked like a real-life blue fairy. When she spotted Connor, her whole face lit up. “Connor, hi!”
Connor looked up, and he definitely took a second look at her. Lucinda’s heart skipped a beat. Grace had totally called it. Connor really did look at her a little longer than usual. Maybe she actually did look pretty tonight.
Lydia noticed too, a faint smile flickering at the corners of her mouth. Cameron glanced at Lucinda’s dress and turned to Lydia. “Lydia, did you design that dress?”
Lydia nodded. “Yeah.”
Most of the LYLX limited editions, especially the top-tier ones, were designed by her. Instantly, everyone’s eyes were on Lucinda.
Cameron beamed. “You’re so talented, Lydia. And Lucinda, you look absolutely stunning.”
It was true. Miss L was so famous that tons of celebrities wanted her as their exclusive designer, but no one ever succeeded.
Cameron laughed. “Elliot, you just hit the jackpot. Your sister’s giving you the VIP treatment.”
Elliot walked over and threw an arm around Lydia’s shoulders, grinning with pride. “What can I say? My sister is amazing.”
Lucinda watched as everyone’s attention drifted back to Lydia. Her hands clenched at her sides. Was Elliot doing this on purpose?
By the time dinner ended, Elliot was convinced that Connor was really into his sister. He opened up the brothers’ group chat and tagged everyone. [Guys, I think Connor’s seriously got it bad for Lydia.

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
