Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 619

“Luke, you… you…”

“Mom, how long are you going to keep lying to everyone? You and Sandy are the reason she fell down the stairs. She almost died because of you.”

Luke’s voice sounded tight, like he was struggling just to get the words out.

It took everything he had to say it.

Everyone in the room fell silent. The air felt heavy, like time had stopped.

Suddenly, Jenson grabbed Milana’s arm and slapped her, hard, across the face.

The slap cracked through the room, loud and sharp.

Milana hit the floor from the force of it. Her cheek instantly swelled and turned red, and there was blood at the corner of her mouth.

“You cruel bitch. How could you do this?” Jenson’s voice shook with anger.

He had always wanted his mother’s money, and he had hated her for years. But she was still his mom, the one who brought him into this world and raised him. He could ignore her, maybe even threaten her in a fit of rage, but deep down, he never wanted her dead.

She was his mother.

But now, the woman he shared his life with had done something unforgivable behind his back.

Milana just sat there, frozen. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at Luke, completely shattered.

She couldn’t believe Luke would expose her like this, in front of everyone.

She was his mom.

She gave birth to him, raised him, and loved him more than anything.

She would have given up everything for him, even her own life. So why, out of everyone, was her favorite son the one who revealed her secret?

Milana felt like the world had collapsed. Her precious son had called Lydia himself?

Could it be true?

No.

She refused to believe it.

It couldn’t be.

“No, Luke, if something’s wrong, you can tell me. I won’t blame you.”

“Mom, stop. Why can’t you see what you’ve done? Is money really so important to you? You even killed Grandma for it.”

“Luke, you’re the one who’s lost. Without money, how would we have raised you? How could we have sent you to the best schools, bought you those cars you love, given you everything you ever wanted? Without money, after your accident, you wouldn’t even be here. So you tell me, is money important or not?”
