Lydia watched Milana, her face calm and steady. “You still don’t get it, do you? Luke just didn’t want you both to keep going down the wrong path. You should be proud of him. He didn’t let your actions rub off on him.” Honestly, Lydia hadn’t expected Luke to stand up for what was right, to call out Milana’s crimes, but it made her proud all the same.
Milana just stared back, her face drained of color and hope. Jenson, on the other hand, let out a bitter laugh, tilting his head back. He’d lived most of his life, yet somehow his own son understood things better than he ever did.
As the police led Milana and Jenson out through the hotel doors, Lydia caught a familiar voice calling her name. “Lydia!” She looked up and saw Kylie hurrying over, with Cameron and Connor right behind her.
Connor hadn’t expected Lydia to move so fast. By the time they arrived, she’d already settled everything.
“Lydia, are you okay?” Kylie asked, worry clear in her eyes.
Lydia gave a small, reassuring smile. “I’m fine. What are you all doing here?”
“You went to see Connor today, so your father and I thought you’d come home together for dinner. But then Connor told us you came here to handle something. Lydia, you know you can tell us about these things. Let us help you, too.”
Kylie’s voice was full of warmth and concern. Her daughter was always so capable, never giving her parents a chance to step in.
Milana and Jenson, still being held by the police, looked completely stunned. They recognized Cameron and Kylie. They were the wealthiest couple in the city. But did Kylie really just call herself Lydia’s mom?
Jenson couldn’t even get his words out. “Lydia, you… they… all of you…”
Jenson and Milana looked like they’d just swallowed something bitter. Shock and regret twisted their faces, leaving them speechless.
Kylie kept going. “If you’d cared about Lydia at all, you would have realized she was Miss L. If you’d had a shred of love for her, you wouldn’t have thrown her out the moment you learned the truth. You have no one to blame but yourselves.”
Connor spoke up quietly. “Mrs. Norwood, you don’t need to waste your breath. They’ve never believed they were wrong.”
Kylie sighed. “I know, Connor. I’m just so angry.”
Jenson’s eyes went wide all over again when he heard Kylie call Connor by name. He looked like he’d just been hit with another wave of shock.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
