Just thinking about Mabel made Lucinda’s blood boil.
“It’s Mabel! Does she really think she’s all that just because she’s the lady of the Robinson family? She actually had the nerve to say I’m immature, but in this weird, roundabout way.”
Lucinda finally let out everything she’d been bottling up inside.
Grace’s eyes went wide. “Wait, what? She called you immature? Who does she think she is?”
“Exactly. Grandpa and my parents never said a word about it, so what gives her the right? Just because Lydia saved her, she gets to be totally biased and take Lydia’s side without even pretending to be fair?”
“She is just too much, always throwing her status around.”
Lucinda gave a bitter laugh. “It’s not about her status. Ever since she found out I’m not the real Norwood daughter, she doesn’t even pretend to care about me anymore.”
Growing up, Lucinda hadn’t seen Mabel often, but every time they met, Mabel would gush over her, saying how pretty and well-behaved she was.
But today, she’d hinted that Lucinda was immature.
All because of Lydia!
Grace had been having a rough time at home, too. The staff she’d basically trained herself were all acting different now that they knew Lucinda wasn’t Mr. and Mrs. Norwood’s real daughter. The way they treated her had totally changed.
It was just so unfair.
“Lucinda, everyone’s focused on Lydia now. If only she hadn’t come back, things would be so much easier.”
Lucinda’s eyes grew dark. “Why is she better at everything? Why does everyone always think so highly of her? Before she showed up, I was the one everyone talked about.”
Lucinda finally seemed done pretending she wanted to be real sisters with Lydia. Grace leaned in, dropping her voice to a whisper. “If you want them to stop putting her on a pedestal, there’s only one way.”
Lucinda looked up at her right away. “What’s that?”
Lydia was good at everything. She was a top student, a brilliant doctor, the founder of LYLX, Melody Mastro, even the best race car driver. What could possibly bring her down?
Juna: [Heartless. I knew you wouldn’t come to me, so I guess I’ll just have to go find you, right?]
Grandpa Kevin: [Lydia, I’m so excited. Only three more days and we’ll finally see each other. The medical equipment and I are ready and waiting for you.]
Lydia: [See you in three days, Grandpa Kevin.]
Luke: [ already checked in at school today. I’ll be living on campus, so don’t worry about me.]
Lydia: [I told you I’d take you.]
Luke: [I can do it myself.]
Iceblade: [See you at school.]
Lydia: [What?]

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
