Lucinda wrapped her arms around herself, heart racing, mind spinning with images of Frank. She was honestly shaken to her core. She had no idea why Frank had shown up out of nowhere. The things her roommates had just said kept echoing in her head, making everything worse. If they ever found out that man was actually her real dad, she couldn’t even imagine how they’d look at her. The thought alone was enough to make her want to disappear.
Mia and the others could see how scared Lucinda was. She was so pale, she almost looked sick.
“Lucinda, are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Maybe you should see a doctor,” Mia suggested, her voice full of concern.
Evelyn nodded. “Yeah, you really don’t look good. Are you sure you’re alright?”
Lucinda forced herself to snap out of it. It was summer, the air heavy and warm, but her hands and feet were freezing. She tried to smile. “I’m alright, really. Sorry for scaring you.”
Frank’s sudden appearance in front of her and her friends had completely thrown her off. What shocked her even more was realizing just how awful her real father actually was. At least her classmates hadn’t figured out she wasn’t actually the Norwood family’s real daughter. If they ever found out, she had no idea how she’d survive at Capital College.
When the others saw Lucinda finally come back to herself, they all let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank god you’re okay. That guy seriously creeped us out. We probably should have called the police and had him taken somewhere. He shouldn’t be out here scaring people,” Mia said.
“Exactly. Lucinda is literally the daughter of the richest guy in town, and some random man just walks up saying he’s her dad? He must be nuts,” Evelyn added.
“Or maybe he’s delusional, or his real daughter is gone… and now he just calls every girl who looks like her his daughter,” Hannah speculated.
Hannah’s voice trembled. “What do we do? He’s obviously following us. Should we call the police?”
“I think we have to,” Mia said, already pulling out her phone.
Lucinda saw her and quickly reached out. “Mia, wait!”
All three girls looked at her, confused.
“Lucinda, if we don’t call the police, he’s just going to keep following us,” Mia said, her voice worried and firm.

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
