Kylie stared at her parents, noticing how much older they looked. Her eyes filled with tears and, this time, she just let them fall.
She felt like the worst daughter. She’d put her own happiness above everything, even her family. For years, her dad refused to see her, and she didn’t have the courage to come home and ask for forgiveness. They’d all just let things drag on, but her parents were getting older, their health was slipping. How much longer could they keep this up?
Would she have ever come back if Lydia hadn't saved her sister-in-law, or if her brother hadn’t shown up at her door? The more Kylie thought about it, the worse she felt about herself.
“Dad, Mom, I’m home.” Her voice trembled as she stepped forward and dropped to her knees in front of them.
“I’m sorry, Dad, Mom. I’ve been such a terrible daughter. I haven’t come back to see you for so many years.”
Cameron also knelt down next to her. Guilt and sincerity filled his face as he bowed his head low.
“Dad, Mom, it’s my fault. I took Kylie away from you. You should be angry at me. You can yell or hit me, I’ll take it. Even though she didn’t come back all this time, she’s always been thinking about you both. She was just scared you wouldn’t want to see her, so she didn’t bring the kids either.”
Mr. Robinson had always been stubborn, and even now, with his daughter finally home, he couldn’t help but grumble.
“She thinks about us? She’s living her glamorous life, probably forgot these two useless old folks a long time ago.”
“Dad, I just didn’t want to upset you. I was afraid seeing me would make you angry, and it’d be bad for your health,” Kylie said quickly, wiping her tears.
Mrs. Robinson dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief, let out a long sigh, and stood up. She looked at Kylie with so much love.
“No matter what, you’re still his daughter. How could he not miss you? Come on, get up.”
She gently helped Kylie to her feet, then turned to Cameron.
“Don’t get too comfortable. We only agreed to let you come home because we wanted to see your little cubs.”
He looked past Kylie to where Lydia was standing.
“Lydia, come here and let Grandpa have a look at you.”
Lydia stepped forward, her voice sweet and clear. “Grandpa.”
Mr. Robinson looked her up and down, a big, warm smile on his face.
“Good, you look so much like your mom did back then. I’ve heard you’re an incredible doctor, that you even saved your aunt. If Nathaniel was even half as talented as you, I wouldn’t have to worry about the Robinson family disappearing from the Capital.”

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
