Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 829

Lucinda’s face was the picture of outrage, but inside, she was practically bursting with happiness. She could hardly believe it. Watching people online drag Lydia, calling her unworthy of Elliot, felt like a dream come true.

It made so much sense to her. Lydia grew up in the countryside. She was never good enough for Elliot, let alone someone like Connor. If people ever found out Lydia was supposed to marry Connor, the backlash would be brutal.

Elliot shot Lucinda a sharp look, his brows pulled together.

Lucinda jumped in, trying to sound upset. “Elliot, do you think those are just haters? The things they’re saying are so awful. It makes me furious.”

Elliot didn’t respond right away. In truth, it was Lucinda’s fake concern that annoyed him most.

Leo saw right through her too. Everyone knew Elliot’s real fans were nothing but supportive. Sure, there were trolls, but they were in the minority.

“Lucinda, the comments you’re talking about are just from random haters. They’re not Elliot’s real fans. You should see what the actual fans are saying.” Leo scrolled through his phone and started reading out loud.

“Elliot, you’ve finally found your happiness. You spent so many years working hard in the industry on your own. She seems really sweet, and I hope you stay happy together. We’ll always be here for you, wishing you a long and happy relationship.”

Lydia grinned. “I guess we’ve let them down.”

Lucinda felt like she might explode. They were all but saying she wasn’t as good as Lydia. It made her blood boil, but she had to keep up the act and pretend it didn’t bother her. The effort was driving her crazy.

She forced a smile and said, “Exactly. Those haters are just the worst.”

Elliot looked at her, his expression turning serious. “So, do you get it now? This is exactly how Lydia felt when she was the one being attacked online.”
