“If you really want to give it a shot with him, your mom and I won’t stand in your way.”
Kylie smiled too. “That’s right, Lucinda. We just want you to find someone you can really count on. How about you bring him home sometime and let us meet him properly?”
Lucinda had expected this. Of course, they wouldn’t say no. As soon as she had a new boyfriend, she’d stop fighting Lydia for Connor. It was obvious where their loyalty truly was.
“Okay, Mom, Dad. I haven’t actually said yes to him yet, and this week’s too soon anyway. Maybe next week, I’ll bring him over for dinner with everyone.”
Cameron nodded. “That sounds good, Lucinda. Your mom and I wish you all the happiness in the world.”
Lucinda couldn’t help rolling her eyes a little, even if only in her head. Happiness? Sure. She was pretty sure they were secretly celebrating.
“Thanks, Mom, Dad. I’ll go tell Grandpa so he doesn’t keep worrying about me.”
Kylie and Cameron both nodded. “Sure. Your grandpa will be happy for you too.”
Mr. Norwood was in his study, practicing calligraphy. When he saw Lucinda, he immediately set his pen down and watched her warmly. “Weren’t you out with your friends? You’re back early today.”
Something about seeing her grandpa made all her feelings bubble up. She didn’t even know how much he genuinely cared about her anymore, but he had always been the one who loved her most.
“Grandpa, are you still upset with me?”
She walked over to him like a little kid who’d gotten caught doing something wrong, her expression apologetic.
Mr. Norwood gave her a gentle sigh. “Do you realize your mistake now?”
As soon as he heard that, Mr. Norwood’s expression turned serious. “Do you actually like him?”
Lucinda shrugged a little. “A little bit.”
He shook his head. “A little isn’t enough to start a relationship.”
Lucinda felt a strange sense of relief at his answer. Grandpa really did care about her feelings, unlike her parents who couldn’t agree fast enough, like they were in a hurry to marry her off.
“So, you don’t think he’s good enough?” she asked.
Mr. Norwood shook his head again, softer this time. “It’s not about what I think. You’re the one who’d have to be with him. If you’re not even sure about your feelings, wouldn’t this relationship just make you unhappy?”

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
