They finally found the DN Jewelry store. Even from far away, Lucinda could spot the couple right away.
They were wearing matching black-and-white outfits, with coordinating black hats and masks. The guy had this cool, untouchable vibe. The girl looked elegant, sharp, impossible to ignore. Together, they were almost blinding.
Lucinda froze, her gaze turning icy.
It was Lydia. That bitch!
She’d actually dragged Connor out to buy her luxury jewelry. And not just one or two pieces, but tons. If Grandpa Samuel ever found out how wasteful she was, he’d lose it for sure.
Caspian noticed the way Lucinda’s expression changed. The couple looked familiar to him, too. After a moment, he leaned closer and asked, “Lucinda, isn’t that Mr. Jefferson and Melody Mastro?”
He still remembered, clear as day, how Connor and Melody Mastro had ganged up on Lucinda at the international piano competition. It was hard to believe the world’s top pianist could be so messy in her personal life, breaking up other people’s relationships.
Lucinda’s mood got even darker at Caspian’s words.
He watched her, eyes warm, voice steady. “Lucinda, don’t worry. I’m here now. I won’t let them hurt you again.”
Inside the store, Connor was talking to a sales associate. “What new arrivals do you have? Wrap them all up for me.”
The store manager and staff were practically buzzing with excitement.
This VIP customer was huge!
Lydia just stared at Connor, totally exasperated. “Seriously, that’s enough. We’ve already bought way too much. I’ll never be able to wear it all.”
The sales associate grinned. “Miss, the gentleman is so generous. Just accept it. There are 365 days in a year. You can wear something new every day.”
Connor looked at Lydia and nodded, “Yeah, 365 days, and this is just a few pieces.”
Lydia was speechless. That was just sales talk. Did he actually believe it?
Was he just rich and stupid?
They’d already spent almost two billion today. Was he even aware?
Just then, a voice interrupted. “Bring out all your new arrivals for us to see.”
Caspian smiled, “In that case, I’ll pay double. I want all of the new pieces.”
“What?” The manager and staff were stunned.
The new arrivals were worth over a billion. And this man wanted to pay double?
Was he serious? Or just trying to show off?
Sensing their hesitation, Caspian pulled out a card. “There’s two billion on this. You can charge it now, and I’ll transfer the rest from my phone.”
Everyone was shocked all over again.
Even Lucinda looked at Caspian in surprise. She hadn’t realized he could be this bold.
The manager hesitated, not sure who to side with. Both men were major clients. She couldn’t afford to offend either one.
Connor let out a cold laugh, his eyes like shards of ice. “Fine. I’ll pay triple. Sir, are you in, or are you out?”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
