Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 866

Juna strolled over, her eyes full of mischief. “Well, well, Lincoln. Did you get caught flirting with the wrong girl again?”

Lincoln stiffened at the sound of her voice. He wanted to sink through the floor. Absolutely humiliating. He could barely stand it.

He tried to change the subject. “Hey, is the concert almost over?”

Juna nodded. “About ten minutes left. Wait, actually, more like eight. Just enough for two more songs.”

Lincoln didn’t have time to joke around anymore. He started moving faster, counting under his breath. “Eighty-four, eighty-five, eighty-six...”

Juna’s grin grew even wider. She leaned in, clearly enjoying herself. “Don’t tell me you tried to charm Lorelei, got caught by Connor, and now you’re being punished with push-ups?”

Lincoln stared at her in shock. “How did you know that?”

Juna burst out laughing, covering her mouth. “Are you seriously this clueless? Didn’t you learn anything last time?”

Lincoln rubbed his temples, feeling like his brain was short-circuiting. “Last time it was with Miss L. This time, it was...” He stopped, suddenly putting two and two together. His eyes went wide. “Miss L and Lorelei are...”

Juna held a finger to her lips. “Shh. As long as you get it. Now hurry up. If more people see you like this, how are you ever going to live it down?”

Lincoln had to admit she was right. He focused on finishing the hundred push-ups as fast as he could.

Juna led Luke backstage. Lydia was already there, makeup off, dressed in her own clothes again.

Juna went straight in for a hug. “You were gorgeous up there.”

Lydia hugged her back, smiling. “Thanks.”

Luke’s eyes were shining with excitement. “Lydia, can you sign something for me? I wanna give it to my classmates.”

He really couldn’t believe it. Lorelei had so many fans. In his class alone, almost everyone was obsessed, replaying her songs every day.

Lydia looked genuinely surprised and pleased. Luke must be getting along with everyone at school these days.

He glanced at Connor’s stern expression. “I’m really sorry, Connor. It won’t happen again.”

Connor just snorted. “If you mess up next time, it won’t be just a hundred push-ups.”

“I swear, I’ve learned my lesson this time. I really have.”

A little while later, Elliot’s concert wrapped up. Lydia’s phone buzzed. It was Kylie, asking where she was. Since the crowd was huge, Lydia told them to head home first. She’d come back a little later.

“Alright, Lydia. We’ll wait for you and Elliot at home.”

“Okay. See you soon.”

Connor, still standing nearby, looked a bit sulky. Was he really going to have to go home alone tonight?

Lucinda, on the other hand, wasn’t ready to leave yet. She tugged on her parents’ sleeves. “Mom, Dad, can we wait backstage for Elliot and everyone? Maybe we can all go home together after Elliot takes off his makeup.”
