Leila and Paige strutted over, looking like they owned the place. Leila, especially, had been listening to Lucinda stir things up, so by now, she absolutely hated Lydia. In her mind, Lydia had to be hooking up with Garrett. Everyone was talking about it. That girl was shameless, using her connection as the Norwood family’s goddaughter to get away with anything she wanted, and the Norwoods just let her. Honestly, Leila wondered if the whole Norwood family had lost their minds.
Lydia frowned, clearly irritated. “Who are you supposed to be?”
She didn’t recognize them, but figured they were probably friends of someone she knew.
Leila’s eyes flashed. “You don’t know who we are?”
They knew all about Lydia, and yet she acted like she’d never seen them before. Leila felt completely snubbed.
Lydia just laughed. “Why would I know you?”
Leila looked like she was about to explode, but Paige quickly tugged her sleeve. “We’ve never actually met her before,” she murmured.
They’d only ever seen Lydia from afar, or heard about her from Lucinda. Then, once everyone started gossiping about Lydia on the university forums, their friendship with Lucinda meant they got to hear all sorts of things. It made them feel like Lydia should know who they were, too.
Lydia caught Paige’s whisper, and it just confirmed her suspicion. These two were probably just like Alfie, here to fight someone else’s battle.
Leila forced herself to calm down. “Lydia, don’t think you can just act however you want because you’re the Norwood family’s precious goddaughter.”
Lydia raised an eyebrow and gave a cold little smile. “The Norwood family’s goddaughter?”
Leila stuck her chin out, all superior. “Did you really think we didn’t know what you’ve been up to? The Norwoods treat you nice, like you’re one of their own, but you’re not. Don’t forget, you’re just some nobody from Lakeview Town.”
Lydia narrowed her eyes, looking at them like she’d just figured something out. “You two are Lucinda’s friends, right?”
Only Lucinda would go around spreading rumors that Lydia was the Norwood family’s goddaughter.

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
