The guy with the mohawk hesitated for a second. “Bring five hundred thousand in cash. Then we’ll talk.”
Leila let out a snort. “It’s just five hundred thousand. I can transfer it to you right now.”
“No way. This is a side job for me and my guys. If the boss finds out, we’re done for. It’s gotta be cash, no records, nothing that can be traced.”
Leila thought about it and realized he was right.
“Fine. Send me the location. Make sure it’s somewhere out of the way. I want to see that bitch’s miserable face in person.”
She wanted to be there herself, to drag a knife across Lydia’s face. She wanted to see how Lydia looked, surrounded by those disgusting men, one after another.
After she hung up, Leila could barely contain her excitement. She immediately tried calling Lucinda, but for some reason, the call wouldn’t go through. She frowned. “Did her phone die?” She tried again. Still no answer. She tried two more times but got nothing.
With no other choice, she hesitated, then dialed Paige’s number.
Paige answered right away. “Leila?”
“Paige, I have some great news for you.” Leila’s voice was bubbling over with excitement.
Paige sounded surprised. “What is it, Leila?”
“I had Lydia kidnapped.”
Paige was stunned. “What?”
“She’s always acting like she’s all that, always flirting and trying to steal everyone’s man. I finally taught her a lesson. Want to come with me and see her get what she deserves?”
Paige remembered Leila saying she wanted to get back at Lydia. And, honestly, Paige had always thought Lydia was way too full of herself, always looking down on people. But, no matter how annoying Lydia was, her status was undeniable. The Norwood family always had her back, and she was with Connor too. Paige had told Leila before that this was a bad idea, but Leila wouldn’t listen.
“Leila, are you out of your mind? Lydia’s got a huge reputation now. The Norwoods are protecting her, and Mr. Moore is on her side. You really think kidnapping her is a good idea? You’re just asking for trouble.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
