For Sweet Potato and his crew, dealing with the guards here felt like swatting flies. There was no pressure at all. Once they slipped inside the base, the group split up. Sweet Potato and Potato took some people to find the armory and the fancier parts of the building to plant explosives. Lydia, with Broccoli and Pumpkin, headed off to look for Luke and, hopefully, free anyone else trapped here.
Right after they walked in, they could hear faint screams and sobbing. The whole atmosphere was so heavy it felt like they’d stepped straight into a nightmare.
Suddenly, a group of young girls was being marched out of a three-story building. Their makeup was perfect, their clothes flashy and revealing. Every single girl looked terrified, but none dared to fight back. Two vans waited outside, engines humming. From the looks of it, the girls were already broken in, about to be shipped off to wherever they were destined.
Lydia paused, thinking for a second. Then she turned to Broccoli and Pumpkin. “Move fast. We get these girls out first.”
“Got it, Lydia.”
Counting the drivers and the armed guards, there were six enemies in total. As soon as the girls were split into two groups and loaded into the vans, Lydia and her team made their move. They rushed out without warning, taking down all six guards before anyone even realized what was happening. In no time, they had the guards tied up and gagged, stashed in the vans. The girls inside barely had time to react.
“Don’t be scared. Stay quiet. We’re here to help you,” Broccoli said, keeping his voice low as he saw panic about to erupt among the girls.
The effect was instant. The girls fell silent, staring at them in shock, like they couldn’t believe what was happening. Did they really just hear that? Was someone actually here to save them? Was this real?
One girl, her voice trembling, looked at Broccoli and asked, “Are you really here to save us?” Her eyes were full of hope, so desperate that it almost hurt to see.
Broccoli nodded. “Yeah. Just stay quiet. We’ll get you out.”
Suddenly, all the girls’ eyes filled with tears. They could hardly believe it. Just when they thought their fate was sealed, someone had actually come to rescue them, like heroes dropping out of the sky.

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
