"Oh my, could it be that Brother Meng fell in love with you at first sight and has been devoted ever since? I finally understand why." Xu Le laughed shyly but spoke directly.
Xu Huan asked, "Why?"
"Sister-in-law is so exceptional! If I were a man, I’d be moved too!" Xu Le’s gaze fell on Tang Yue’s smiling face; she truly is someone who can both grace the living room and handle the kitchen.
Even though Tang Yue’s hands were well-maintained, her skillful fish slicing showed that she was adept, not just for show.
Xu Huan nodded repeatedly.
Mo Xiaolin never stopped smiling; these sisters really get along. She said, "You’re absolutely right; having Xiao Yue as a daughter-in-law is the blessing our family has cultivated for generations."
"Mom, being able to become your daughter-in-law is the blessing I’ve cultivated for generations." Tang Yue said with a smile, feeling that having Mo Xiaolin as a mother-in-law was truly her own good fortune.
The kitchen was filled with joy.
Li Wei went to call Zhao Xiangqian, who brought Sun Qing along with him. Originally, they wanted to bring Sun Rou too, but she smartly decided not to come.
They were all paired up, and besides, Sister and Brother Zhao were dating. Even if they came back later, having her tag along would be awkward.
Moreover, her appearance is identical to Lian Qingqing, which Tang Yue probably wouldn’t like.
Sun Rou declined, citing work at the store.
On the way back, Zhao Xiangqian and Li Wei chatted, while Sun Qing felt a bit uneasy; this was her first visit to the Tang Family as Zhao Xiangqian’s girlfriend.
Sun Qing had visited the Tang Family many times, but today, she felt especially shy.
"Don’t worry, the little sister-in-law is very nice. You two have known each other for a while; you should know better than me." Zhao Xiangqian, being a man, didn’t consider things as thoroughly as Sun Qing.
Sun Qing glanced at him and opted to remain silent.
On the way to the Tang Family, Sun Qing stopped by a roadside store to buy some apples and other things. With the New Year approaching, the festive mood was palpable on the street.
By the time they arrived at the Tang Family, it was almost dark.
Tang Yue and the others had almost finished cooking in the kitchen, just waiting for Sun Qing and the others to arrive so they could eat.
"Xiao Yue." Sun Qing placed the apples in the house and felt more at ease seeing Xu Huan and Xu Le.
Sun Qing had interacted with both Xu Huan and Xu Le at the factory.
"Xiaoqing, you’re here! Perfect timing; we’re just about to eat."
Tang Yue carried the dishes into the dining room to eat.
The round table was full of dishes, and a charcoal grill was burning brightly, making the room warm enough to forgo thick coats.
In the warm yellow light, laughter filled the room. Li Wei and the others had to return to the company later; though they didn’t drink alcohol, everyone was cheerful.
Before leaving, Tang Yue said to Sun Qing, "Come over to the house for lunch tomorrow. I’ll invite Jin Yan and Sister Deng too."
"Tonight, I’ll take you to the Red Bean Restaurant for a feast. Sister Deng, bring Brother Qi along too." Tang Yue invited.
Deng Lanhua shook her head, saying, "No need, Xiao Yue. Brother Qi has been learning how to cook lately and won’t be eating at home."
"Alright, then we’ll just go together." Tang Yue initially planned to bring the kids too, but Mo Xiaolin preferred to stay home, saying she’d have dinner at home with Meng Jin and his wife, not wanting to join the lively crowd.
"Once Si Yu returns, have him pick you all up." Mo Xiaolin smiled and added, "You all work together, and it’s more lively when you eat together. If we go, it’ll make you feel uncomfortable."
"Alright."
Tang Yue didn’t refuse and took them to the Red Bean Restaurant.
Other than Jin Yan, Sun Qing and Deng Lanhua had never been to such a high-end place. From the entrance to the private room, the restaurant exuded an upscale vibe, making Sun Qing and Deng Lanhua hesitant to step too hard.
"Order whatever you like." Tang Yue hadn’t been here many times herself. Seeing the restaurant bustling with people didn’t surprise her.
The Red Bean Restaurant’s books showed impressive profits, indicating good business.
During this busy season, the chefs continued working, with double pay and additional holiday bonuses for all staff, ensuring nobody wanted to leave the restaurant.
Even the chefs Lian Qingyang recruited had never mentioned wanting to leave the Red Bean Restaurant.
Jin Yan ordered a dish; seeing the prices on the menu, Sun Qing and Deng Lanhua hesitated to order anything.
Unable to watch, Tang Yue took the menu and ordered three dishes, one soup, and a dessert in one go.
